NIGHTLIGHT: “Celebs Gone Good” by VH1
On Monday, November 16th, 2009 VH1 and Dosomething.org hosted a holiday party with a premiere screening of “Celebs Gone Good” at Mocca Lounge in Tribeca from 7pm-9pm.
Industry insiders included Tom Calderone, President of VH1; Nancy Lublin, CEO of Dosomething.org; Producer Doug Liman, of The Bourne Supremecy and Mr. and Mrs. Smith; Brett Henne, SVP Communications of VH1; Comedian Seth Herzog; and Actor Darrell Smith, HBO The Wire.
Guests enjoyed Pepsi, an open bar, and a preview of “Celebs Gone Good,” which will air on VH1 December 19th. With the help of DoSomething.org, VH1 gathered data and lists of hundreds of philanthropic stars and then with the help of viewer feedback narrowed the list down to the 20 celebrities that have had the most charitable impact. The show features the ‘who’s who’ Celebrity Do Gooders, with exclusive interviews and footage highlighting these Top 20 ranking celebrities, comedians, and cause-leaders philanthropic efforts.
According to VH1 President Tom Calderone, "What we love about DoSomething.org and their CelebsGoneGood.com property is that it's meaningful but still fun. From the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to VH1 Classic's 'Rock Autism' campaign, we've got a long history of bringing fun into our successful pro-social causes. We know that our viewers and our online visitors are going to enjoy our partnership with DoSomething.org to salute celebrities gone good."
