Pilot Peachy: Liberty Jet

Liberty Jet Management is an FAA Licensed Air Carrier (Cert#LDJA639L) that received its certification on November 24th, 2006. Liberty Jet is owned by Mr. Christian Deputy (President and Director of Operations) and Mr. Dan Leon (Chief Executive Officer) and is based out of the Islip Airport on Long Island. Currently Liberty Jet operates seven jet aircraft with two being based in NY, three in Chicago, one in Boca Raton and one Air Ambulance operation that is located in Bermuda. 

Their key management personnel have over 90 years experience operating business jet aircraft. As a service company catering to the most discerning clientele, Liberty Jet provides “service beyond expectations” to an increasing number of VIP clients day after day, flight after flight. They offer products such as jet management, jet cards at fixed pricing, straight charter on managed fleet and maintenance services. Upon their inception, Liberty Jet has received numerous awards and commendations for both customer service and safety. Liberty Jet immediately earned the ARG/US Gold safety rating back in 2006. ARG/US is a leader in safety, operational auditing and reporting to the business industry. Liberty Jet has also recently passed their initial Wyvern recommendation who is a separate third based auditing company that spent three days at their facility earlier this year checking the operations, aircraft records and procedures in order to offer their clients a Wyvern recommendation.   Not only are they fabulous pilots, but they are personable too as we learned at a recent Nightlight at the Empire Hotel.

Peachy Deegan spoke with Christian Deputy to learn more about Liberty Jet.

Peachy Deegan: What sets you apart from other private jet companies?
Christian Deputy: You mentioned in a previous email that you had previously featured Blue Star Jets. What sets us apart from a company like Blue Star Jets is we are an operator and they are a broker. They don't operate aircraft, I do. If Blues Star Jets wants a plane for a client from TEB to MIA they would call me..I have a Jet they don't. We also do a lot of social media applications with our business.

What are you proudest of? 

In only three short years I have been able to grow this business from zero aircraft to a fleet of seven making us the fourth largest operator on Long Island. Not only that, I have been able to do this in a deep recession and in a business like private jet travel during these difficult times. These other companies have been around for 20 years or more. They are old and slow to react and I have been nimble and aggressive. We expect to grow in 2010 to a fleet of more then 10 jets.

In our industry you can't "publish" fares like you can with a scheduled airline.
