RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH A STRONGER SENSE OF STYLE WHEN THE HIT MAKEOVER SERIES "HOW DO I LOOK?" RETURNS WITH NEW EPISODES AND DRAMATIC TRANSFORMATIONS BEGINNING JANUARY 2 Sassy Style Guru Jeannie Mai Returns to Help Guide the Fashion Flawed Toward a Brand New Look and a Brighter Outlook on Life!

Complete Your Full New Year’s Makeover on the New Style Series “What I Hate About Me” Premiering Immediately After the Debut of “How Do I Look?” on January 2

This January, the stylistically challenged will begin the New Year by finally confronting the unfashionable truth, as everyone’s favorite makeover series "How Do I Look?" debuts ten all-new episodes on The Style Network.  With the help of host and fashion expert Jeannie Mai, as well as concerned friends, family and a professional stylist, they will encourage their disastrously dressed loved one to follow through on a resolution for better fashion sense. Featuring a whole new cast of characters, outrageous ‘before’ looks and some explosive altercations, will each victim work to achieve their style goals or resist change every step of the way?  Find out when "How Do I Look?" returns Saturday, January 2 at 8:00PM et/pt on The Style Network.

Peachy Deegan just watched the first episode and we must say this is a must-see.  From Act One to Act 5 you will see a complete transformation that is quite remarkable.  In Act One we meet the candidate, Alisa, who definitely defines the word individual, and she does it in one color.  In this color, she was married (it is not white!), she is personally referred to in this color, and basically, she lives in this color.  We do admire her sense of self and her conviction but the trouble is it has gotten to the point where she is not as respected at work as she needs to be, and her overwhelming obsession for this color embarrasses her son.   Also in her overzealous embrace of this one color, she overlooks a lot of other color and style opportunities that can alter her life for the better.

Later, in Act 2, it becomes a bit distressing when it is time for out with the old, in with the new.  Be sure to watch the magic tube and check out the cool glasses Jeannie Mai has Alisa try which quite literally change her whole perception and make this a new exercise in reality.  A genius trick!

Act 3 brings some fun with shopping, and three people pick out three different waredrobes: Alisa's son, Alisa's co-worker and a professional stylist.  With names like "Design to Shine," "A Brand New Hue," and "The Rainbow Correction" the looks transform Alisa and this is something you will want to see!  By the way, there is a hidden surprise...

Hair and makeup is changed in Act 4 and Act 5 is the big reveal.  Be sure to tune in for this premiere episode!  Although Mai does present well, we do miss Finola Hughes though-she was a wonderful host!  Clinton Kelly is another favorite of ours on "What Not to Wear."

In each episode, Jeannie and the “How Do I Look?” team set out to transform one lucky victim into a beacon of style.  After raiding the participant’s closet, the intervention proceeds.  The offending wardrobe is displayed on the ‘sacrificial table’ and each accomplice singles out the piece they find exceptionally appalling.  Once chosen, Jeannie disposes of each item one-by-one through the 'Ewww Tube' – a device that literally sucks clothes up through the ceiling and into oblivion!  After the shock subsides, Jeannie leads the victim in a customized fashion lesson while the accomplices and stylist hit the shops to each create a personalized clothing collection for the victim’s consideration.   After the ensembles are assembled, the victim tries on each outfit and chooses his or her favorite without knowing who pulled which one together.

With a new look, new hair, new make-up and a new confidence, it’s time for the victim’s grand reveal on a stage at the vibrant Hollywood & Highland® complex in Los Angeles.  Following the big unveiling in front of an eager audience that includes Jeannie, the accomplices, friends and family, the new fashionista tries to guess who chose their winning look and is treated with a special gift to keep on the right style track.

Highlights of upcoming new episodes include:

• After years of working at a strip club, a Boston native and mother of three has finally had enough and wants to start a new career.  However, it doesn’t look like she got far from the club by the way she dresses.  From skimpy shorts, sequined bras, bikini tops and lingerie, Kim might get the attention she desires…but it’s the wrong kind.

• A working mother’s wardrobe consists of anything and everything…purple!  At work and at her son’s school, she is known as “The Purple Lady” for only wearing clothing in different shades of purple.  From violet glasses, lavender shoes and grape colored dresses, it’s enough to make anyone go plum crazy!

• A fashion professional has an eye for what looks good, but when it comes to her own style, she can’t put two and two together.  She pairs her husband’s collared dress shirts with short-sleeved blouses, a pair of glasses, tights and flip-flops.  If she doesn’t make better choices soon, she might just become the ugly ducking of the fashion world!

Utilizing her experience as a celebrity makeup artist, accomplished actress and fashion expert, Jeannie Mai delivers her trademark energy and enthusiasm as host of The Style Network’s “How Do I Look?”.  After launching her career as a successful stylist with a roster of clients that includes Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Rosario Dawson, currently she can also be seen on Style’s advice series “Tips Today,” as well as on the entertainment news program “Extra” as their weekend co-host and correspondent.

Don't miss new episodes of "How Do I Look?" debuting Saturday, January 2 at 8:00PM et/pt, followed by the new Style series “What I Hate About Me?” premiering January 2 at 9:00PM et/pt, only on The Style Network!
