Shop Italian Style on Madison Avenue with Peachy Deegan and Whom You Know

You know Peachy Deegan is not really Italian but she looks it she is told...and the only thing that is as good as eating Italian-Peachy prefers Lobster Spaghetti at Serafina (and regularly dreams about it)- is SHOPPING ITALIAN!  THE ITALIAN TRADE COMMISSION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MADISON AVENUE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, CELEBRATES THE QUALITY AND PRESTIGE OF ITALIAN-MADE GOODS WITH TWO WEEKS OF HOLIDAY SHOPPING EVENTS AT ITALIAN BOUTIQUES ON MADISON AVENUE

New York, NY – The Italian Trade Commission, in partnership with the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, is proud to celebrate the quality and heritage of Italian-made fashion and accessories goods during MADE IN ITALY on Madison, an exciting two week series of consumer shopping events and promotions on New York City’s iconic Madison Avenue.

Kicking off with a VIP Launch Celebration on the evening of Thursday, December 10th at the Morgan Library & Museum and continuing until Tuesday, December 22nd, the Italian Trade Commission will be joined by more than 30 leading Italian fashion, accessory and lifestyle retailers in hosting a dynamic series of special events and promotions on Madison Avenue. Aniello Musella, Italian Trade Commissioner for the United States comments: “Since Italy began exporting to the United States in the 1950s, the U.S. has become one of the largest global markets for Italian luxury goods. During this time, Italian-made products have been coveted by discerning American consumers for their fine tradition of hand craftsmanship, attention to detail, pioneering design and use of the highest-quality materials. It is especially important that we support retailers during this critical time of year given the challenging economic climate we’ve faced over the past 12 months. We are very encouraged by signs of recovery, and look forward to creating a dynamic experience to attract shoppers to visit and shop Italian stores on Madison Avenue this holiday season.”

The Italian Trade Commission is proud to announce an extensive list of participating retailers (in alphabetical order): Beretta, Bric’s, Cesare Paciotti, Claudia Ciuti, Damiani, Davide Cenci, Domenico Vacca, Eredi Pisano, Frette, Furla, Galo Shoes, Geox, Giorgio Armani, Giuseppe Zanotti, Gucci, Krizia, Lana Marks, La Perla, Loro Piana, Luca Luca, Marina Rinaldi, Mario Caldi, MaxMara, Paul & Shark, Panerai,  Pratesi, Roberto Cavalli, Santoni and Tramontano.

“With nearly 50 Italian luxury brands, Madison Avenue is New York City’s Italian Mile,” said Matthew Bauer, President of the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District.  “We are honored to work with the Italian Trade Commission to help Madison Avenue’s holiday shoppers experience the finest in Italian Moda e Gastronomia.”

Information on the Made In Italy on Madison including a retailer map, calendar of events and information on promotions in association with Italian brand sponsors can be found at the Italian Trade Commission website www.lifeinistyle.com. A special voucher to thank shoppers for their purchases during the promotional events will be redeemable for a complimentary espresso, glass of sparkling Italian wine or for a free appetizer with the order of an entrée at participating Italian restaurants on and around Madison Avenue.

Made In Italy is supported by Hearst Magazines, the company that created and produced the print advertising campaign, which was photographed in the eternally fashionable, glamorous Italian capital city, Rome.  “We developed the new Made in Italy campaign to raise consumer awareness for Italian fashion and accessories in America, and this event really brings the campaign to life,” said Valerie Salembier, SVP/Publisher of Harper’s Bazaar.  “When you buy Italian, you are getting great quality, craftsmanship and design, and nowhere are those qualities more evident than the elegant boutiques of Madison Avenue in New York City.”

Made In Italy on Madison will be communicated via a promotional media campaign to be seen in The New York Times, Time Out New York, Gotham Magazine, LXTV Taxi Cabs, Daily Candy, NYMAG.com and via other online sites.
