Peachy Deegan Loves Her Kleen Kanteen! Earthy Peachy like the Sleek Shape, Top Options and Insulated Durability
From day one the mission of Klean Kanteen™ was to give people an alternative to plastic or lined aluminum bottles. They wanted to create a sustainably produced, reusable bottle that was free of BPA and other toxins. And they were successful! Peachy Deegan just loves her Kleen Kanteen classic. Sleek, durable and versatile, it is great for everyone in Manhattan on the go...and isn't EVERYONE in Manhattan ON THE GO?!?!
We love how it is insulated. We love how it comes in different fashionable colors. We love the top options! The loop top is great for everyday use and is convenient to pop in your bag....but you don't want to drink out of it with that lid, so we switch to the wide cafe cup when we consume our hot or cold beverage of choice.
The first Klean Kanteen™ was cobbled together from things bought at the local hardware store in Chico, California. With some fine-tuning that prototype became the 27oz Klean Kanteen™ Classic, the first stainless steel water bottle designed for personal use. They chose 18/8, food-grade stainless steel instead of aluminum or plastic because the metal itself is safe and toxin-free. Stainless steel is made of many elements and minerals, some of which are actually recommended by the FDA such as iron. Other components of stainless steel including manganese and chromium are often included in multivitamins and other dietary supplements.
Because stainless steel itself is safe, we don't need to coat the inside of the bottle with a plastic or epoxy lining, which is one of the main differences between a stainless steel Klean Kanteen and aluminum bottles. Food-grade stainless steel is used in the brewing, food and winemaking industries too. It's the material of choice because it doesn't retain or impart flavors.
No matter how many times you refill it, no matter what you put into it, your Klean Kanteen™ will keep your drinks fresh, crisp and clean tasting. All caps are BPA-free polypropylene (pp#5) too, and they offer stainless steel cap options for Classic bottles as well. They introduced the 27oz Klean Kanteen™ in 2004. Word spread fast and in just a few years the small, family-owned business grew to a leader in the stainless bottle industry. Over the years they've added more sizes, introduced color, and released theWine Karafe™ and the Klean Kanteen Wide™ lines. But it all started with the unique shape, design and characteristics of the Classic.
The long neck and large-mouth make it easy to drink from the Classic bottles, and the opening is large enough for ice cubes and other big stuff like frozen strawberries. The slim design also fits in most cup holders, and the bottles and certain caps (pp#5 Loop and Sport) are dishwasher safe.
