READ THIS: Love Haiku, Japanese Poems of Yearning, Passion, and Remembrance

Sometimes less is more, and if you feel that way you surely must be predisposed to the Haiku!  Available at Borders, one of our favorite spots to pick up great gift books for Valentine's Day is "Love Haiku."

The brilliance of brevity holds true throughout the entirety of "Love Haiku," and your own imagination is given the opportunity to color in the picture the three lines make.    Art is interspersed every so often, brightening up the experience of reading the book.  It is a nice little anthology that makes an even nicer gift.

Written in three parts: Yearn, Passion and Remembrance, the work truly reflects all that love may encompass.

Our favorites are found on:

Page 88 "The Body Arches"

Page 100 "Rose Petals Scattering"...all memories, good or bad, make us who we are.  This makes us remember of one of our favorite quotes (this one is not in the book) from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, which is:

"I have been through a lot and have suffered a great deal. But I have had lots of happy moments, as well. Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either."
