The first product we reviewed was the Vegetable Lasagna.  Peachy Deegan remembers having Vegetable Lasagna for the first time at Miss Porter's School (never before: the Deegan family eats meat!) and she liked it.  However the girls at Miss Porter's would definitely like this version by Caesar's Pasta Products better we think.  It does not taste a bit like it is good for you.  At Whom You Know we love to discover products that are good for us that taste like they aren't!

Lasagna is a dish that I don't opt for too often because there's always some element that doesn't come out right, whether the pasta is overcooked, or the sauce or cheese proportions aren't quite right. It's with much skepticism that I gave Caesar's Pasta Specialties' Vegetable Lasagna a try, and lo and behold, they actually got all the elements right.  The gluten-free and wheat-free pasta, made from rice flour, had a nice al dente texture, while the marinara sauce is balanced, the ricotta and mozzarella cheeses were blended nicely and the different medley of vegetables were tasty and seasoned with herbs and spices to perfection.  Packaged in a convenient single-sized serving with its own tray, it heats up in minutes in the microwave, and is a quick go-to and satisfying meal.

Caesar’s Vegetable Lasagna is just heads and shoulders over other pre-packaged brands.  And it’s gluten-free to boot!  I don’t have celiac disease or any kind of food allergy, but I’m thinking the people out there who do must be pretty psyched about this line of products.  The Vegetable Lasagna in particular is great.  There are actual veggies to be found in the layers, and the sauce is very tasty.  Oh, and the portion size is excellent.  Half is more than plenty for a light lunch with salad.  Bottom line – this is not just a product for those on a gluten-free diet.

The lasagna is prepared in classic six-layer style, so it feels like a typical homemade meal. The preparation is easy and the lovely semolina flour rises and fills out the layers nicely when cooked. Caesar's own tomato sauce is very rich, and well spiced to bring out the best of it's freshness. I would recommend the Vegetable Lasagna as a great, easy homemade tasting meal for those who don't get enough veggies in their daily meals.
