The Champagne Wishes Panel of Whom You Know Recommends The Little Black Book of Cocktails by the Peter Pauper Press~!
The Little Black Book of COCKTAILS from Peter Pauper Press is a fun gift for your favorite bartender/host/hostess. It’s got over 150 pages of not only cocktail recipes, but also a little history about the origin of the cocktail as well as tips for the bartender and a list of essential bar gadgets. I particularly liked the list of glassware, complete with pictures and a description of what each is for. The list of “Edible Accessories and Mixers” and the guide to “Garnishing Cocktails” also included some helpful information and tips for giving your home-prepared cocktails the look you see at trendy bars. My husband especially liked the “How to Flame a Drink” instructions, but I don’t think we’ll be trying that any time soon. The bulk of the book is filled with every kind of cocktail under the sun. Really, everything seems to be here. The best part is that the book is categorized much in the same way cookbooks are, with grouping names such as “Cocktails Classique” as well as “From the Tropics” and “Naughty Drinks,” just to name a few. And for the inexperienced like myself, there’s even a glossary! For under $10, this Little Black Book of COCKTAILS is a steal. Next time you’re looking for a hostess gift, buy two – and save one for yourself!
This book is just great! It's small and spiral bound so it lays flat when open. It isn't just a cookbook for drinks. Rather it emphasizes the elegance of mixing drinks. This great book does a fantastic job of making the art of mixing cocktails seem hip and cool. Not only is this book handy, it is also well organized and easy to use. It is jam packed full of great ideas. This little book is idea to keep on hand when throwing a party and also makes for the perfect host gift. I am looking forward to using this for many years to come. I highly recommend this cocktail book for anyone who wishes to dazzle friends with their expertise in cocktail making.
The perfect companion to any wetbar! With a fully stocked bar at all times it is fun to try different concoctions. Mixing the perfect drink is not as easy as you think. But practice makes perfect as long as you have the perfect guide. The Little Black Book of Cocktails: The Essential Guide to New & Old Classics serves it up just right. From all the basics on glasses, bar tools and even how to cure a hangover. (My favorite The Little Black Book covers it all.) My favorite is the index which allows you to look up drinks by primary liquor ingredient, flavor or simply by name. A great hostess gift at $9.95 that is unique and a must have at home behind the bar.
Here's to cocktails! Mix them, drink them, enjoy them. This bestselling Little Black Book includes more than 150 recipes for classic cocktails, martinis, punches, tropical drinks (with or without umbrellas), dessert drinks, naughty-sounding cocktails (like "Between the Sheets" and "French Kiss"), tips on cocktail culture, a glossary, and amusing anecdotes.
Helpful index includes listings of drinks by name, by primary alcoholic ingredient, and by color/flavoring.
The perfect little gift book for your favorite bartender! Cheers!
