Global Art of Perfumes – New Trade Event in Düsseldorf

The Global Art of Perfumes is a perfume exhibition and a meeting place focusing on the art and business of scent. It evolved out of “Sniffapalooza,” the successful premiere that took place in Düsseldorf in 2009. The new event coincides with the BEAUTY INTERNATIONAL DÜSSELDORF, the biggest cosmetics trade show in Germany.

Düsseldorf, Germany – The Global Art of Perfumes is a new platform for the perfume and fragrance industry and takes place from March 26-28, 2010, at the Rheinterrasse Düsseldorf. The event is a fusion of trade show, congress, and art exhibition for all things perfume and scent, and is designed as a forum for industry representatives, manufactures, and retailers. International participants, including 100 exhibitors and 1000 trade attendees, are expected.

The event is organized by the Trendmessen GmbH and uses the same comprehensive format as last year’s “Sniffapalooza.”  Frank Schnitzler, one of the organizers, explains: “We want to get perfume experts together to foster a new way of defining perfumes by quality and sophistication, no longer just by price.  Our event is an invitation to ignite more creativity in our industry and to move away from the image of triviality that perfume has these days.”   In addition to displaying and demonstrating perfumes, the event also incorporates an art show that features perfume flasks and vials, historic ads and posters, and machinery and equipment for perfume manufacturing, etc.

Exhibitors will include industry participants from the USA, France, Italy, and other countries.  The opening ceremony on March 26 is open to trade attendees and press and will be hosted by Ms. Astrid Elbers, wife of Düsseldorf’s mayor Dirk Elbers.

One of the highlights of the scent congress will be the presentations by several well-known speakers, namely the internationally renowned trend research icon Li Edelkoort. Her presentations are at 11.30 am and 6.30 pm at the Robert Schumann Saal, located opposite the Rheinterrasse Düsseldorf. Her presentation in the evening is followed by a “Trend Party” at Düsseldorf’s Hotel Intercontinental on the Königsallee. Attendees at one of Li Edelkoort’s presentations will be admitted to the Trend Party for free. Please reserve tickets online through the webpage mentioned below.

The Global Art of Perfumes is set to coincide with another industry-related trade show in Düsseldorf, the long-running BEAUTY INTERNATIONAL DÜSSELDORF 2010 (March 26-28, 2010, Düsseldorf Fairgrounds), and is intended to create a synergy between both events.  BEAUTY INTERNATIONAL DÜSSELDORF is the No. 1 Trade Fair for Cosmetics, Nail and Foot Professionals, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of the show.  The event will again be the ideal platform for beauty sector professionals. Free shuttle service to and from Beauty 2010 is provided; each ticket guarantees free entry at the other exhibition.
