READ THIS: Fancy Nancy Heart to Heart based on Fancy Nancy written by Jane O'Connor Cover Illustration by Robin Preiss Glasser and Interior Illustrations by Carolyn Bracken

We cannot get enough of Fancy Nancy at Whom You Know.  Fancy Nancy Heart to Heart is one more hit in the series!  Whom You Know is all about ooh la la in all of the things we review, and we love to hear it coming from someone else too.  We love how she has a specific outfit for everything, like mystery solving.  We love her precocious vocabulary.  We love the glitter trail.  We think when Nancy grows up she will read Whom You Know, but we hope she doesn't grow up.  Here is what the fabulous fancy Petite Peachy Panel had to say:

Heart to Heart is a delightful story from the Fancy Nancy series.  In it, Nancy creates valentines with her friend, Bree, and with her usual flair takes valentine-making to a new level.  When she receives an unsigned valentine herself, she sets out to discover the source of the creation.  The whole story is just adorable, as Nancy’s stories always are.  As a parent, I love reading anything with my daughter that gets her thinking beyond the story and sparks interest in some kind of activity for post-read.  This book did exactly that.  And even though we read it after Valentine’s Day and we didn’t sit down to make some valentines of our own, it did get her thinking of crafts and she asked if she could make a picture for her dad.  How sweet!  Of course, she also asked for some chocolates, but that situation was quickly diffused.  Oh, and the fact that this book comes with stickers will make any little girl smile.   Another winner from Fancy Nancy!

Valentine's Day is such a fun holiday for young students, especially when Fancy Nancy is involved.  It was so adorable to see the younger students I work with be on the edge of their seats to find out who Nancy's secret admirer was.  Even though Valentine's Day has passed, my students wanted to do something where they could make cards and be the detectives.  It was fun to see them acting this out during recess.  The girls especially liked it because of all the different shades of pink.  Many of them even started using the word fuchsia.  I appreciate the fact that there are books written for young students that introduce new vocabulary. As a teacher, I'm always looking for fun and interesting ways to do this.  The stickers also added a nice touch to the book.  I was able to use them on various notes or papers and the students knew right away they had come from the Fancy Nancy book and felt very special.

Based on Fancy Nancy by Jane O'Connor, Valentine's Day tells the story of Nancy's preparation for this special day and her detective work to find the creator of her Valentine card. Carolyn Bracken beautifully copies Robin Preiss Glasser's style with detailed illustrations which leave children carefully studying each page. These illustrations 'tell' the story which is supported by simple text ideal for young children 4 - 8 years old. One of our favorite pages is the one where Nancy and her friend, Bree, spread their valentine creations across the floor. We love looking at the variety, colors, designs and styles which lend ideas for Valentine creations. The story provides several opportunities for conversations with your youngster. Talking about the ways that we celebrate Valentine's Day, how to make cards, problem solving strategies and showing others our love are all topics which can be jump started from this story. Further, the length of the book is perfect for the attention span of young children. Their engagement is rewarded with a surprise on the last page, where one finds a page of Valentine Day stickers.

Fancy Nancy gets even Fancier! Just went I thought I could not enjoy another Fancy Nancy book more, out comes FN Heart to Heart. The story is about making fancy valentines for friends and family.
