The inside of this thermal food container – including the interior of its screw-on lid – is made of safe, high quality, food-grade 304 stainless steel 18-8, which is free of Bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates, lead, cadmium, aluminum and other hazardous toxins. Following a recent conversation with friends regarding our concerns with the safety of plastic food storage containers, we went out and bought a set of Pyrex glass food containers. While they were nice and not plastic (well, only the lids are plastic), they were very heavy to tote around and there's always the fear of breaking glass if we're not careful. I love soup in the winter time; it is a great side for a sandwich for any lunch. Until now I used to have to buy canned soup which is loaded with sodium and I would have to microwave it which uses more energy and destroys the taste of the soup.
