NIGHTLIGHT: Will and Anthony Nunziata, Our Movers and Shakers, Shine at Feinstein's. We saw them last night, You Should See them Tonight or This Week!
We love our Movers and Shakers! If you looked at the posts today, you'll see nearly all of them revolved around these outstanding people. Will and Anthony may be our youngest Movers and Shakers...and we count this as the 9th post we've mentioned the name Nunziata (To their Dad: type your last name at the white bar at the top and you will see them all!) Here are the Mover and Shaker pieces:
Will:
Anthony:
We first heard Will and Anthony sing at a Boston College Alumni event, as all three of them are graduates of our most favorite academic institution at the college level, Peachy included. (Yes! This site is maroon and gold on purpose!) They did not disappoint last night at Feinstein's, and as they play every night to the 24th of April we understand there at The Regency, they will not disappoint you either. Their animated, talented line-up of songs will delight you and their boyish antics will make you burst out in laughter at a venue where you certainly have enjoyed yourself in the past, but definitely would not have had such laughing-out-loud fun prior to the existence of these twins there this week.
If they weren't such talented singers, we'd say the Nunziata's would have an excellent comedy routine to offer, but you get a double dose of not only the boys but also the duplicity in talent of song and laughs. Oh, and they play tennis too. Everyone from Boston College is athletic...on their way to play tennis one day they noticed an opportunity to try out for something theatrical at school, and the rest is history. Their imagination runs rampant in a good way during the show as they will transport you to the days of the top bunk in their Pelham bedroom where they'd watch VHS tapes and hit pause to burst into song. Pure, well-rounded entertainers, we see the Nunziatas being fabulous actors as well as singers and the echo they give each other makes the performance only stronger. The act only gets funnier as they play off of each other and funnier still if you know them well as we gather from the laughs coming from the table where their lovely parents sat. (Their mom also went to Boston College and is indeed fabulous too!)
The show, titled "From Pelham to Park Avenue," is supported by Richard Jay-Alexander, Director; Ben Toth, Music Director and Piano; and Jered Egan on Bass. It began with "Swing is Back in Style" with music by none other than Michael Feinstein. The twins were particularly strong with "When the Saints Go Marching In/Lullaby of Broadway" and as a side note, Anthony makes a super Louis Armstrong. Will excelled in "Teach Me Tonight" as a soloist as did Anthony in "Willow Weep For Me." Their deliberate expressions combined with the gentle exceptional control of their voices will draw you into the whole routine and transport you into a classy cabaret where they show the whole world what ever to excel means.
Our favorite of the night that was fun was "Make Someone Happy," while the more serious favorite was "The Prayer" which was done in two languages, English and Italian, concurrently; we think you can only do that well as a twin! They are definitely more serious when they are apart from each other, but they were pretty serious in this number.
Though Will is not dressed in red and Anthony is not dressed in blue, you will be able to tell them apart if you look closely and pay attention, though they will try to trick you. That must be part of the fun of being a twin! See if you can tell them apart...Whom You Know Highly Recommends Will and Anthony Nunziata at Feinstein's at Loews Regency April 20-24!
