Champagne Wishes: DRINK WELL AND DO GOOD WITH THE NEW YELLOW+BLUE 2009 SAUVIGNON BLANC Y+B Builds a Better Box with a Chic New Design and Chilean Varietal
Wine importer J. Soif, Inc., has unveiled a new varietal in its range of Yellow+Blue certified organic wines. You will remember we previously recommended their Rose:
The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc from Central Valley, Chile, is the latest in the brand’s line of affordable, fine wines. It is a fine crisp, clean, wine for Spring in Manhattan and perfect for your picnic basket in the park this weekend! Nothing as far as taste or quality is compromised by the paper packaging and it is SO much lighter to tote around! Yellow+Blue celebrates high impact on the palate with fine wine sourced from organic vineyards, and low impact on the planet with its commitment to eco-friendly practices.
With the new varietal, Yellow+Blue reveals a fresh look for its brand, giving the exceptional quality of the wine inside, a style to match on the outside. Unlike other wines in the market, vertical text on the “pak” mimics the growth of vines and provides tasting notes, color, aromas and other facts. Imbuing the wine with a personal touch, each “pak” is signed by founder W. Matthew Cain, giving the wine his seal of approval.
“Our Sauvignon Blanc – bright, with lingering flavors of lime and peach – is an ideal white wine for year-round drinking,” said President and Founder Matt Cain. “With our new packaging and our commitment to sourcing organically grown grapes, this wine is perfect for any chic, eco-friendly wine enthusiast.”
The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc is created from 100% organic Sauvignon Blanc grapes from Central Valley, Chile. An ideal vintage from Chile, the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel at a low temperature, which preserves the fresh aromas of tangerine, key lime and Mandarin Orange.
Featuring a lucent yellow-green color, citrus aromas, medium body with bright acidity, and a long, mineral-laden finish with lingering flavors of lime and peach, Yellow+Blue Sauvignon Blanc complements grilled fish, cheeses, grilled vegetables and cured meats.
Yellow+Blue wines are certified organic throughout the growing, harvesting, winemaking and packaging processes. The grapes are grown organically, harvested by hand and fermented with wild yeasts. The wine is packaged in Tetra Pak cartons which are made from 75-percent paper harvested from responsibly-managed forests and weigh significantly less than glass bottles, greatly reducing transportation costs and carbon emissions.
Yellow+Blue 2009 Sauvignon Blanc will be available at specialty wine shops and upscale grocery stores for $12/liter beginning in January 2010, and we are pleased to say we recommend it! We first tried it at Christie's....and next we are going to show you a wine tool that makes it even better!
