Movietime in Manhattan: Ginger and Cinnamon Highly Recommended By Whom You Know
There are no coincidences we think in life, and we think so even more after watching Ginger and Cinnamon! Exploring relationships within a family and within a couple, this movie pushes the limits to funny amidst a beautiful Greek escape for a young aunt and her niece. From telling the truth to rites of passage, this film honestly probes life's adventures. We love these Italian Films by Film Movement and we may be picking up a bit of the language. It is surprising how American television is picked up in the movie-even the Simpsons are mentioned- so we in America should start to appreciate the entertainment talents from other parts of the globe. When Stefania breaks up with her boyfriend Andrea, little does she realize what the summer has in store for her. She winds up on vacation at a Greek resort 'isle of love' with her 14 year old niece. Unfortunately, her teenage niece has something more than sun and surf on her mind; she decides that this Mediterannean paradise is where she will finally lose her virginity. However, in an ironic twist, the cute guy she has her eye out on turns out to be none other than Andrea, her aunt's ex-boyfriend. This light-hearted "comedy-of-errors" is a valuable lesson in what being a woman means at any age. Whom You Know highly recommends Ginger and Cinnamon.
