NIGHTLIGHT: Colin Lane, Eric T. Miller, Labhaoise Moloney are Star Performers in Hit Play Four Last Things by Lisa Tierney Keogh at NYU Glucksman Ireland House

Peachy Deegan literally cannot remember when the last time she went to a reading of a play was, and it wasn't in Manhattan.  She doesn't even love plays in general all that much, but after witnessing the reading performance of Four Last Things by Lisa Tierney Keogh and performed by Colin Lane, Eric T. Miller, and Labhaoise Moloney, she can't wait to go to another one!  Since the New York Rangers are not in Stanley Cup contention, this is the best thing to do in Manhattan in May!  Every Monday night in May, Origin Theatre Company will be hosting different readings at the NYU Glucksman Ireland House and we hope every one is as phenomenal as Keogh's.  The storyline of small town Ireland to big city Dublin is one that everyone that ever moved to Manhattan from a tiny place can relate to, and the Irish references, if you are not lucky enough to have lived in Ireland, will be easy for you to catch on to, and perhaps even learn in advance of going!  And for those of you that think a reading is just not your style, you want to see the full-blown play, you might be surprised.  If you have been reading Whom You Know, you know we're on a Chanel kick so we're going to say these readings are like the little black dress of broadway: Less is More!  When acting is as spot-on as this (even the dog!) and the writing is as gripping, the winning combination will draw you in as the minutes fly by.

Janey is dropping out... Of college, of friends, of life. Stuck on her family farm, yearning for Dublin, she wants to swap the green fields for a concrete jungle and the endless quiet for a ceaseless noise. With a father she can't talk to, and a dog that can't talk back to her... An achingly true play that vigorously explores our most secret beliefs.  Lisa won the Irish Times Theatre Awards Bursary and was nominated for the Stewart Parker Trust/BBC New Writing Award, Ireland's most prestigious new writing award. Lisa has received writing bursaries from the Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council, Screen Training Ireland and The Peggy Ramsay Foundation. In 2009, she was a finalist for the BBC Tony Doyle Award and was a member of the inaugural New Playwrights Programme at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Her sixth stage play, Four Last Things, sold out its premiere run at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2009 and was nominated for four Fringe Festival Awards including Best New Play and Best Production. Lisa is currently working on a new play for the Abbey Theatre, Ireland.

Whom You Know highly recommends Four Last Things by Lisa Tierney Keogh and the Origin Theatre Company.
