OLD AND MODERN MASTERS RARELY SEEN IN PUBLIC SURFACE AT BONHAMS

The multi-million pound selection on show includes:
A Marc Chagall masterpiece titled La Revolution estimated to fetch £1,200,000-1,800,000. Rarely before seen in public, it is to be offered at the June 22nd Impressionist and Modern Art sale.
An early and intimate Picasso portrait of the artist’s first friend in Montmartre, Mr. Minguell, completed in Barcelona in the early summer of 1901 when Picasso was just 20 years old. Estimated at £700,000-1,000,000 it will also be offered at the June 22nd Impressionist and Modern Art sale.
One of the earliest known hand-coloured impressions of Edvard Munch’s iconic, Madonna, is being offered for sale at Bonhams Print sale on July 13th. Never before seen in public, it is estimate to fetch between £500,000 – 700,000.
Two Old Masters by Jan Van Kessel will be shown. Depicting flowers with insects and shells, in oil painted on copper, they were possibly produced for a royal or aristocratic Spanish patron. The pictures are estimated at £800,000 to £1.2m each and will be offered during the Old Master Sale on July 7.
Two Old Masters from the Owston Collection in Australia. A Joachim Anthonis Wtewael (Dutch 1566-1638) depicting a cockerel and other decorative fowl in a landscape estimated at £400,000-600,000) and a Melchior de Hondecoeter (Utrecht 1636-1695 Amsterdam) oil on canvas estimated at £60,000-80,000. They will be sold at the Old Master sale in London on July 7th.
