Sing for Hope (www.singforhope.org), a public service organization for artists, has joined forces with Yale University to present an evening of song performed by distinguished Yale alumni. The second annual Songs for Our Future concert will take place in honor of Yale’s "Day of Service” as a benefit for Sing for Hope's Art U! program, which brings dynamic arts and leadership education to underserved New York City youth.
Richard Kind, perhaps best known for his roles on “Mad About You” and “Spin City,” will host this special evening. Yale alumni performing include Tony Award nominee Malcolm Gets (Story of My Life; A New Brain), Tony Award winner Ted Sperling (South Pacific; A Light in the Piazza), Mike Errico (VH1, Puccini for Beginners), Ali Ewoldt (Les Misérables; International Tour of West Side Story), Christopher Dylan Herbert (Boston Pops, Avery Fisher Hall), Amy Justman (Company; White Christmas), Nicole Lewis (Hair; Lennon), Sam Tsui (YouTube sensation; The Oprah Winfrey Show), Lauren Worsham (Candide at City Opera; Spelling Bee), and their Yale alumni colleagues from the stages of Broadway. The evening will feature a special appearance by Dick Cavett, the Emmy Award-winning writer, performer, and host of The Dick Cavett Show Songs for Our Future will once again be directed by Andy Sandberg (Tony Award winning producer of Hair), with musical direction by Andrew M. Byrne (Les Misérables; The Bridge Project).
The Celebration Committee for this event includes Polly and Michael Brandmeyer, Andrew Burgie, Mark Dollhopf, Christopher Durang, David Alan Grier, Samuel Hendel, Christopher Herbert, Rebecca and Tim Hunt, Nicholas Lewis, Mark Linn-Baker, Gerrit Meier, Brian Neff, Michael and Julie Pitman, Alexander Reid, Andy Sandberg, George Steel, Elise Thoron, Christianne Tisdale, Maury Yeston, and Camille Zamora and Tom Whayne.
The performance will take place at Clear Channel’s P.C. Richard & Sons Theater (32 Avenue of the Americas in TriBeCa) at 8:00pm on May 7th, 2010. Tickets are priced at $250 and include a reception with the artists before the event. Tables are available at $1000, $2500, and $5000. About Richard Kind
Richard Kind is an American actor known for his roles in the sitcoms Mad About You (as Dr. Mark Devanow) and Spin City (as Paul Thomas Lassiter). Kind created the role of Addison Mizner in Stephen Sondheim’s Bounce, and has appeared on Broadway in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, The Producers, and Sly Fox. His opera performances include New York City Opera’s Candide, and his film and television appearances include Stargate, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Two and a Half Men, and A Serious Man, among many others.

American icon Dick Cavett is the Emmy Award-winning writer, performer, and host of The Dick Cavett Show, which was broadcast for 5 consecutive decades.
