SWEET INSPIRATION: NEW DIGITAL CANDY THERMOMETER TIES IN WITH THE BOOMING FOOD GIFT-GIVING TREND RECOMMENDED BY WHOM YOU KNOW

Tying in with the consumer trend toward food gift-giving as meaningful, personal and affordable, Component Design Northwest (CDN) presents the new Digital Candy Thermometer (DTC450). With its lighter weight and added convenience features, this will be the candy thermometer of choice for home cooks who want to create treats and gifts of caramels, colorful ribbon candy, chocolates and other sweet indulgences.

The Digital Candy Thermometer comes preprogrammed with the seven basic candy stages: Thread, Soft Ball, Firm Ball, Hard Ball, Soft Crack, Hard Crack and Caramel. This eliminates the need to research or remember the temperature parameters for each stage of the candy-making process.

For added convenience, this new model allows consumers to set the thermometer to the high temperature of their choice. Multiple audio alerts keep the home cook informed, starting with a pre-alert. When the temperature is 3º F (2°C) below the target temperature, a single beep sounds and the red LED flashes. Then, the alarm beeps twice once the target temperature is reached. Helping to ensure perfect results, the alarm beeps three time and the temperature flashes on the display if the temperature reaches 3°F (2°) above set temperature.

The new lightweight design makes it easier to handle than most candy thermometers. Designed to use smaller batteries, the thermometer comes with a smaller head that keeps the unit from being top heavy. The unit’s handy clip easily and securely attaches to the pan. The clip is designed to allow the user to insert the thermometer and slide it up and down as needed.

With a temperature range of -40 to 450°F/-40 to 232°C, the thermometer, is designed with a 7.625-inch/19.4 cm stem that is ideal for use when making candy or other high temperature cooking. The unit automatically shuts off after an hour and runs on two 1.5V Button IEC LR44 Alkaline batteries (included). The ABS plastic case and pocket clip make the thermometer portable and protected.

It then beeps 2 times when it reaches the target temperature. Lastly it beeps 3 times and flashes the temperature when the temperature reaches 3 degrees above the target temperature chosen. The stainless steel: stem, heat shield and adjustable clip make this product durable and long lasting. Also stainless steel is easy to clean up too. CDN Digital Candy Thermometer withstands temperatures to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 232 degrees Celsius. This thermometer is easy to use with the 7 preprogrammed candy stages with the unique alerts. Included with this is: an all-purpose temperature stage, dual progress display and a temperature guide. The features of this are: the 8.5” stem, it’s shatterproof, food-safe ABS plastic, stainless steel stem, auto-off after 1 hour, adjustable stainless steel clip, and the pocket clip.
