Winner - Best Film, Best Actor - Amanda Awards (Norwegian Academy Awards®)
Peachy Deegan is not fluent in Norwegian (though they do play hockey there we believe, so that may motivate her), however the language of loyalty and friendship is international. Of all of the films we have recommended by the Film Movement, this would be in the top 3 and it is an absolute must-see. Excellent character development, a strong script, and a completely unique film make Buddy outstanding.
Lovable Kristoffer and his riotous escapades will leave you laughing, crying, and hoping for a sequel as universal themes emerge in Buddy: some more under the radar than others. This is including but not limited to:
*International problem of men not bright enough to commit in situations they should
*Other countries knowing about America, but us not knowing about them: they are imitating the MTV show "Jackass"
*Humanity, friendship, and responsibility are international
The best quote from Buddy:
"Sometimes you have to let go of the goalie and attack with both hands."
You even will learn how to sing Happy Birthday in Norwegian, which is always fun to know.
Kristoffer's love life is on the rocks. But what can you expect from a guy who likes to videotape himself and his friends pulling outrageous stunts? So when Kristoffer's video diary winds up at a popular TV show, it's not just his love life that turns upside down. A vibrant young cast explores the true meaning of friendship and love in a heart-warming story about hi jinks, crazy roommates and reality television. |
