Spa Peachy: Spa Week's VIP Internet Week Retreat
The Whom You Know Spa Peachy Panel attended a Spa Week Retreat + Cocktail Party at the gorgeous Manhattan House (200 East 66th St.) rooftop yesterday! We escaped the Internet Week frenzy for an indulgent evening of massage, acupuncture and rooftop meditation by exhale, inspirational speakers, and refreshing cocktails by BluePrintCleanse and TY KU Sake, and we had a great time.
Held in the rooftop garden of Manhattan House, this VIP event offered a welcome break from sitting hunched over in front of computer, which is what we'd usually be doing at 4 p.m.! Massage, acupuncture, and rooftop meditation were offered to attendees, courtesy of Exhale Spa.
One of the panelists enjoyed an amazing neck and shoulder massage, as well as a brief acupuncture treatment. Although needles were not being used, she received some "ear seeds" (tack-like objects that are pressed into your ear and provide a take-home, longer treatment) for stress, as well as a tuning fork treatment. Although she's an acupuncture veteran, she hadn't received tuning fork treatment before, so she was quite game to try it. Evidently, the vibrations from the fork enter the body and are able to move energy around. Very cool!
Characteristic of Whom You Know, we skipped the meditation (we are not so zen here) to sample the cocktails that were being offered, courtesy of BluePrintCleanse, TY KU Sake, and Voli Light Vodka. The sake was mixed with BluePrintCleanse's spicy lemonade, which made for a light and refreshing drink. The low-calorie, electrolyte-infused vodka (!) was mixed with BluePrintCleanse's pineapple/
