Kuhn Rikon Melon Knife Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

Not only do we like to wear dresses in a watermelon hue, we also like to eat it of course.  Fun and functional, the Kuhn Rikon Melon Knife has an 11-inch blade with a serrated edge, to easily slice through any type or size melon. High-quality Japanese carbon steel blade, with functional nonstick coating. Seed-shaped cut-outs help prevent sticking. Saftey sheath for storage and transport.  The Chez Peachy Panel comments:

The Kuhn Rikon Watermelon Knife is easily and hands down the prettiest kitchen tool I own.  But it's not all just beauty, as the function of this knife more than stands on its own.  Made of a high carbon steel, the knife held its own in a side by side test with my Wusthof Classic chef's Knife.  The serrated edges of the blade on the Kuhn Rikon sliced thru the skin of a watermelon more smoothly and with less resistance than the Wusthof.  The non-stick coating on the Kuhn Rikon also allowed for the melon to slide right off when I cut them into chunks, my preferred style of serving melons.  Now that we have the function of the knife aside, I can't rave enough about just how pretty and pleasing to the eye it is!  The combination of the red coated blade, the green handle, the seed cut-outs on the blade and the matching cut-outs on the protective red sheath surely deserve a design award and I won't be surprised if one day I spot this knife in the Museum of Modern Art's (or any design museum's) permanent collections!

Don’t let the cute design of this melon knife fool you.  This is one serious implement!!  It is definitely the tool to use when cutting (with ease) through a watermelon or any other type of melon.  The weighted, ergonomic handle gives this fantastic kitchen utensil a solid feel in your hand, and it slices through a melon’s tough outer rind like a hot knife through butter.  Don’t be deceived by the playful exterior.  This knife has an incredibly sharp 11” Japanese carbon steel blade, and with its non-stick coating, it is a winner!  The accompanying red sheath is a definite plus for safe storage and transport.  This utensil is reasonably priced (suggested retail of $24.95) and makes a great gift or a fun addition to your own kitchen.
