The Little Black Book of Barbecue by The Peter Pauper Press Recommended by Whom You Know

The perfect gift book for all of your grilling friends and family, and the special pyromaniacs in your life....introducing the Little Black Book of BBQ!!!  We love the Peter Pauper Press, and recommend many of their products and this is the next in their line of hits.  This popular barbecue cookbook includes recipes for burgers, steaks, pork, chicken, and seafood, along with veggie dishes, sides, and spice rubs---everything you need to become King of the Grill!  Or QUEEN.  Peachy Deegan would say you have to try the British Sangria...both panelists loved it independently!

160 pages. Portable book (4-1/4" wide x 5-3/4" high) fits easily in your apron pocket, Concealed wire-o binding; book lies flat for ease of use; elastic band place holder. Durable ''Black Book'' binding wipes clean.

The Chez Peachy Panel put this to the test, and they say:

Summer is here and so is the backyard barbecue and "man's love affair with fire". The Little Black Book of Barbecue available from Peter Pauper Press, Inc. is an essential guide to grilling, smoking and BBQ'ing. Needing some diversity from the standard hot dogs and burgers, I found that this little handy hard cover book has some great information. It fits nicely in your pocket for easy access when needed. It also lies flat for ease of use and it has a convenient band page holder so you won't lose your place in the wind. Everything you need to know from the history of BBQ'ing to a wide variety of recipes that you and I can realistically make in our backyards for family, friends and any social gathering.  Outdoor grilling is a great way to keep the kitchen cool too.
To my surprise, this handy little book had a recipe on how to make "walnut brownies" on your grill as well as other easy to make desserts to finish off a memorable barbecue.
Complete your barbecue with a peach ginger iced tea or the "Iains's British Sangria"...mmm delicious. Whether you are a pro or a once in awhile BBQ'r, this Little Black Book of Barbecue is a must for your BBQ'ing pleasure, I loved it.

The Little Black Book of Barbecue from Peter Pauper Press is reason enough to go out and buy a new grill or smoker.  In its 160 pages, this book offers just the right combination of history and culture, tips, science, and recipes.  The history is my favorite.  I mean, who hasn’t wondered where the word barbecue comes from?  And how many of us grew up thinking our own dad had pretty much invented barbecue?  Well, this little book sets the record straight in 30+ very interesting pages.  Oh, did I say the history was my favorite?  Well, if so, then the science part runs a close second because now I know what makes meat tender and why marinating makes meat more tender.
It seems like a shame that for the past 20 years, I’ve been marinating just because it tastes good.
Oh, there’s so much more to it!  My husband’s favorite part of the book was the “Cool Tools Equipment Guide,” (of course!) and I have a feeling that my kitchen cabinets are about to get very crowded.  By the time we got through all this good stuff, the actual recipes felt like such a bonus in an already great book.  And I’d say the author left the best for last because on page 160 you will find an absolutely delicious recipe for Iain’s British Sangria.  Overall, the book is a winner.
I’d definitely recommend it as a host(ess) gift the next time you’re invited to barbecue.  We’ve already got a couple copies lined up!
