Whom You Know Highly Recommends Eau de Cologne by Penhaligon's, one of our most favorite parfumeurs!!

Penhaligon’s has a long and distinguished history in the world of British perfumery dating back to the 1870s when William Penhaligon moved to London from Cornwall and starting creating fine fragrances for discerning gentlemen.  We are glad their collection today also includes fragrances for discerning females as well.  With this rich heritage and an archive of formulations, it’s no surprise that Penhaligon’s is embarking on a new venture; breathing new life into twelve of its heritage fragrances dating back as far as 1927.   Peachy is a bit of an anglophile and that is no secret as you can see from the Take a Trip columns, London receives the most attention.  We love historical brands of excellence at Whom You Know and Penhaligon's is this to a T.  We are pleased to continue our coverage of this distinguished brand!

In July 2009, Penhaligon’s launched the first four fragrances in the Anthology collection. 29th March 2010 sees the release of the next two fragrances in the collection: the classic citrus Eau de Cologne (1927) which is what we highly recommend today, and the luminous floral Orange Blossom (1976)

The formulation of the 1927 Eau de Cologne remains unchanged, offering a unique insight into the fragrance tastes and trends of the era, while the Orange Blossom has been created by master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, inspired by the 1976 original scent.

Six further archive fragrances will be released, two later this year and four in 2011, creating an Anthology collection of twelve fragrances for men and women.

Eau de Cologne
Originally created in 1927, Eau de Cologne is a classic citrus with subtle ripples of powdered orange and aromatic rosemary. Lithe and highly polished, Eau de Cologne resonates with nostalgia for the bygone jazz age and the glitter of patent dancing shoes.  This classic scent has withstood the test of time and even bears the royal seal of the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales.  Made in England, of course, Eau de Cologne is a perfect light daytime fragrance for men of all ages and nationalities-you don't have to be English to wear it!  Penhaligon's always distinguishes themself with the signature ribbon at the top of the bottle which is so sharp.  This one bears a double-colored black and khaki ribbon.  The splash of citrus from Eau de Cologne will invigorate you and spur you on during your Manhattan Monday!  This is what you need gentlemen of Manhattan!

Orange Blossom
Originally created in 1976, Orange Blossom has been transformed into a luminous honeyed floral. Lush with Calabrian orange and bergamot, tempered with Virginian cedar, rose and peach flower. Wearing Orange Blossom is like walking from shade into warm sunshine.
