Fashion Alert: Royal Purple is Where it's At this Fall

Purple, purple, everywhere!  We didn't pick it, but we are calling it. We do like purple, and it is a flattering color to many people, and of course it evokes a feeling of royalty.  When you think about how few products use royal purple in their advertising, you realize until now it has been generally less represented than other colors.  We think Cadbury's initially, which is of course fabulous from Ireland.  If you haven't had it it is one of the best chocolate brands and far better than most American ones, and this is coming from Patriotic Peachy.  The products that do use purple we believe are trying to give the message to the public that they are premium brands, beware as many of them are not and it is a marketing scheme....at any rate, this color is all over the place this fall and we've seen it from designer to designer in some of the most prominent department stores in Manhattan.  As you read Whom You Know, we know you are among Manhattan's upper crust and need to know the right color to wear this season.

In fact, even on our way back from Trapeze School in Governor's Island yesterday we saw Molly wearing a fabulous purple dress, on her way home from the jazz party.  Molly was wearing this color brilliantly.  The exact shade we are speaking of is the purple you saw in your crayola box of 8 kicked up a notch with brilliance and vibrancy, a power purple if you will.  Not a muted eggplant with shades of brown that horrifies us to the max commonly worn by earthy, crunchy people clad in birkenstocks, power purple is for the women of wall street and the like, the royal purple has shocks of electric blue undertones that propel you towards fall. We think for some people, this is best as an accent color, but if you've got the look you can certainly pull off a royal purple coat, dress, or larger item.  However, beware of looking like the purple people eater; you can have too much of a good thing here.

So think about it!  Add a little purple to your look.  Even Bergdorf's has that purple bag, though it is far more muted than the shade we speak of.
