New England Air Museum Update

Open Cockpit to be Held on October 10
Your chance to play pilot! Bring along your friends and neighbors for an enjoyable day at the Museum. Approximately 12 aircraft and our fully operational flight simulator will be open. There will be an additional activity for children and a food vendor will be on site all day. The Museum is open from 10 to 5 and the cockpits will be open until 4.
Voices of Pride Program on November 14
Veterans who were involved with a number of our display aircraft will be on hand all day to meet with visitors and approximately 10 aircraft will be open for cockpit entry. Also, there will be a series of presentations made during the day. A food vendor will be on site all day. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
Behind the Scenes Tours on November 26
On Friday, November 26, the day after Thanksgiving, the Museum will conduct behind the scenes tours of its current restoration projects. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a close-up look at many of the restoration projects and to talk with the volunteers who are involved with them. The program will include the B-29 Superfortress; the WWII Goodyear Blimp Car; the Douglas A-26 Invader; the Doman LZ-5 helicopter; the Sikorsky S-59 helicopter; the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter; the Regulus I Missile, several vintage engines and more. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the Museum's Research Library. The tours will end at 4 p.m., and the Museum will close at 5:00 p.m. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
Santa Visits the Museum on November 26
Santa Claus will visit the Museum on Friday, November 26, the day after Thanksgiving. He will be on hand to meet with children on board his special helicopter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and he will have a gift for each child.
