Paintings to benefit the David Nalbandian Foundation at Sotheby's
With the US Open underway Sotheby’s is delighted to announce that it is to offer paintings by two of the leading artists in Argentina to benefit the charity founded by one of tennis’s biggest stars - David Nalbandian, who is scheduled to play his first match of the tournament this afternoon.
The works will be included in the Latin American Art auction on 16 and 17 November in New York. The Argentine player has had a successful 2010, guiding Argentina through to the Davis Cup semi-finals and winning his 11th ATP World Tour title. He now returns to Flushing Meadow for the US Open, where he reached the semi-finals in 2003 and the quarterfinals in 2005 and where he won the 1998 US Open Junior tournament, beating Roger Federer in the final. The two works to be offered are Sin TÃtulo by León Ferrari and Antonio Segui’s Un Angel both of which have been donated by the artists to benefit the David Nalbandian Foundation.
Con el U.S. Open ya en marcha, Sotheby’s tiene el placer de anunciar que ofrecerá en subasta cuadros de dos grandes artistas argentinos para beneficiar a la fundación creada por una de las mayores estrellas del tennis – David Nalbandian.
Las obras serán incluidas en la venta de Latin American Art del 16 y 17 de Noviembre en Nueva York. El jugador argentino ha tenido un año muy exitoso, llevando a Argentina a las semi-finales de la Copa Davis y obteniendo su onceavo titulo del ATP World Tour. Ahora regresa a Flushing Meadow para el US Open, donde llego a las semi-finales en el 2003 y a los cuartos de finales en el 2005 y donde ganó el US Open Junior Tournament en 1998, ganándole a Roger Federer en la final. Las obras a ser ofrecidas en subasta son Sin TÃtulo, de León Ferrari y Un Angel de Antonio SeguÃ, ambas donaciones de los artistas.
