The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City will host its 7th Annual Fete de Swifty benefit on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, on East 73rd Street (between Lexington & Third Avenues in Manhattan)Proceeds from the event will benefit the New York City Family Justice Center Initiative, a unique public/private program administered by the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence that provides services in one location with partnering City agencies and community providers to increase the effectiveness of service delivery to help break the cycle of violence. This year, the event will also benefit the New York City Housing Authority’s Early Childhood programs, which provide children in NYCHA public housing communities with high-quality early care and learning opportunities for overall child development, and school and lifelong success. 


This year, Mary J. Blige, Tim Gunn, Mariska Hargitay, Nicole Kidman, John Starks, Steve Stoute and Malik Yoba are serving as the honorary chairs of the event, which was founded by Liz Smith. 
Fete de Swifty’s combination of street fair and cocktail party has been a unique event in New York City since 2004. Over that time, Fete has raised critical funds to support public programs through the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.  The Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City serves as the umbrella not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization for the City of New York.
