We love Ellen Christine, as you can tell. Now, Henri Bendel does too.
Henri Bendel, the iconic 5th Avenue retailer, has a long love affair with hats and millinery. Mr. Bendel, the store’s legendary founder, was a trained milliner and hats were the first product he sold when he opened his eponymous store in 1895. And Bendel’s iconic brown and white stripe hat box continues to be one of the brands most beloved motifs.
The Henri Bendel Cocktail Hat collection is made in collaboration with Ellen Christine Millinery, one of the pre-eminent milliners working today. The collection consists of glamorous, but accessible little hats and fascinators that are meant to perch on any hairdo, and add a soupcon of style to any ensemble.
The collection of 10 cocktail hats, an homage to Mr. Bendel and his favorite accessory, are a modern interpretation of cocktail hats from the 1930's-50's. Made entirely by hand and never with glue, the collection features custom feather compositions and fabrics like silk, taffeta, netting and leather. From a petite top hat in buttery black leather to an oversized bow in Bendel brown iridescent taffeta; the silhouettes are both whimsical and slightly irreverent– just like the Bendel Girl - and are meant to attract attention.
The Henri Bendel Cocktail Hat collection makes it debut in September and will retail for $288- $1,148 and will be available at Henri Bendel Locations Nationwide.
