Kevin Mayer Named Chevrolet Advertising Director Experienced automotive Marketing and advertising executive joins brand from Subaru
Kevin Mayer has been named director, Chevrolet Advertising and Sales Promotion, effective Oct. 4, joining the brand from Subaru of America, Inc., where he had been director, marketing communications, General Motors U.S. Vice President of Marketing Joel Ewanick announced today.
“Kevin has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to engage the customer and build a relationship with the brand – and ultimately the products - through bold strategies,” Ewanick said. “Kevin will be an asset to the entire Chevrolet team, especially as we continue the launch of two very important vehicles – the Chevrolet Volt and Cruze.”
Mayer, 41, joined Subaru of America, Inc., in 2007. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and account director at Colby and Partners, where he led the American Suzuki Motor Company account. Prior to his time at Colby and Partners, he served as director of advertising and marketing for Mitsubishi Motors of America. He began his automotive career in 1997 at Hyundai Motor America, where he held a variety of corporate strategy, marketing, promotions and advertising positions.
Mayer holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Purdue University, and a master’s in business administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
