Peachy Ahoy: World Yacht Scores Another Winner With the Chinese Moon Festival Cruise!!!
As you know, we love World Yacht and we highly recommend it:
Not only is World Yacht the premiere destination for the upper crust to see the sea around Manhattan while dining well, but it has recently proven to also be a cultural hotspot to many backgrounds. You'll remember recently we covered and highly recommended Oktoberfest:

The Yacht Critics of Whom You Know happen to be partly German and one of them actually has lived in Germany, so that happened to be up their alley. Although neither is Chinese or Asian even for that matter, they are both always up for a fabulous soiree in any language or culture, and when you are in a new environment you are given the opportunity to learn as well. We must admit we are not too strong in Asian culture although Peachy loves fortune cookies. We are majoring in World Yacht, however.
We began with sushi, which was fresh and delicious, shown above. Having never been to a Chinese Moon Festival, we were intrigued by the origin of the Moon Festival complete with Moon Cakes, and we were pleased to meet Kean Wong of NTD television and Cici. We learned that the Chinese Moon Festival is one of China’s biggest holidays celebrating summer harvest and the bonding between family and friends. And who knew what a Pipa Solo was before last night? (A musical instrument). The night was complete with a fashion show and Chinese Calligraphers impressing all guests with their talents. Even with iffy weather with lightening, the cruise was so much fun! Of course, during any cruise on World Yacht we would encourage you to take a walk around the deck after your meal. The spectacular views are amazing even in a bit of a drizzle! Here is the traditional meal for the Moon Festival:
This will continue for two additional events in February 2011, the Chinese New Year and Chinese Lantern Festival, so put them on your calendar! And with March comes the best day of the year, St. Patrick's Day, so fingers crossed that World Yacht might do something with Peachy's favorite holiday and maybe she will even show them her secret recipe for making Bailey's, but they'll have to call it Deegan's. Last night we enjoyed the Appletini! Peachy loves to drink anything green as it's her favorite color, and the only way this cocktail could have been better is if it had Star Vodka (buy now on Shop with Peachy!) and that is usually the only kind of Vodka Peachy drinks, but she made an exception last night as she loves World Yacht.
World Yacht is doing fabulous things for Manhattan, its residents and its guests, and if you have not had the supreme delight of one of their dinner cruises whether you are on a cultural festival such as the Chinese Moon Cruise or one of the everyday cruises that are simply extraordinary, you are totally missing out. Whom You Know highly recommends World Yacht for the third consecutive voyage around our beloved island of Manhattan!
A fabulous night by Hallie, Jonah, Jason and Eilin! Brilliant ideas and outstanding cruises are great because of the people behind them. They attend to every last detail and even when Peachy picked up her passes, Jasmine Campbell was so gracious and even told Peachy she read about the Tibi show on Whom You Know! Maybe Tibi should have their next show on World Yacht.

About Moon Festival
The Moon Festival, a tradition that dates back thousands of years, is held on or around the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar, when the moon is full. At this time, the moon is at its fullest and brightest, and it’s a time when Asian families come together to celebrate the abundance of the summer’s harvest. The Moon Festival, also called the Mid-Autumn Festival, is the second most important day on the Chinese lunar calendar. The holiday is observed by most Asian countries including Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, and the two Koreas. The original purpose of the Moon Festival was to celebrate the end of the harvest season. However, the Moon Festival carries a profound symbolic meaning that makes it very important to all Asian people. It is a celebration of maternal bonding and family. On that day, friends and family—no matter where they live in the world—gather for one special reunion dinner. The night ends with the viewing of the majestic moon, accompanied by special servings of moon cake.
