Peachy in the Tents: Diane Von Furstenberg: Spring 2011

The backdrop this season was decidedly minimalist, but with tones of violet that we have been talking about in fashion now (http://www.whomyouknow.com/2010/08/fashion-alert-royal-purple-is-where-its.html) in the Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2011 show.  She's one of our favorites and who can not love the wrap dress; Peachy's personal favorite wrap dress by Diane is black with a white collar and cuffs that we'd say is a bit French looking.  The runway started for Spring 2011 for Von Furstenberg with prints with browns in them-the prints were fine but we do not love brown- and it was kicked up a notch when a model came out in a number with gold accents which we really liked.  We liked this show but we still think her show with the Temple of Dendur background was our all-time favorite.

She had the right idea when we saw a lot of green come out next!  An off the shoulder dress was hot, and asymmetrical as well as it was off only one shoulder.  We loved the black dress with the white scrolls, short sleeve shift dress.  It was followed by a model wearing a hood-we don't get the hood on any runway unless raingear is being promoted.  We want to see hair!  Or fabulous hats.

Next came more and more prints, we liked the cleaner ones over the more tribal looking ones.  Diane scored a winner with the sleeveless indigo plunging neckline dress that has a gorgeous asymmetrical hem.  In gold, a similar version came out later with a slit up the side that we also loved.  The tasseled bags were great but we'd like them even more if they were half the size.  Fresh, clean and modern, this show was one to attend, but you already knew that-it's Diane Von Furstenburg!
