READ THIS: Great Minds Drink Alike by Virginia Reynolds and published by The Peter Pauper Press

It's said that ''In wine, there is truth.'' In wine, and beer, and especially in martinis, there is also wit and wisdom. We invite you to raise your glass and toast the great literary minds of history—from Aristophanes to Frank Zappo—who could smooth away life's rough edges with a bon mot and a belt of booze. ''Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy'' (Benjamin Franklin). ''Work is the curse of the drinking classes'' (Oscar Wilde). ''Martinis should always be stirred, not shaken, so that the molecules lie sensuously one on top of the other'' (Somerset Maugham). Handsome mini gift book features a glossy dust jacket, and a 24K gold-plated cocktail glass charm to keep on the wine-red ribbon bookmark or wear on a bracelet.  We put our best Champagne Wishes panelists on this review, and they say:

Alcohol is a means to merriment for some great minds out there, as highlighted by some of the notable and quotable quotes in Virginia Reynolds' Great Minds Drink Alike. While we at Whom You Know don't exactly condone copious consumption of alcohol, we do have to admit that it's enhanced some of our finer moments and special occasions, making for a more jolly time to be had for all. It's in this spirit that some of the quotes in this book highlights. You're sure to find a few that are quotable at your next cocktail party, or perhaps any occasion. A favorite of mine is: "I believe that if life gives you lemons, you make lemonade... And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party." - by Ron White. Of course, we only drink Star Vodka at Whom You Know-go to Shop with Peachy! Colorfully and cheerfully illustrated, with a little wine glass charm bookmark, the book may be tiny in size, but its wit and humor is big.

The only thing better than a great drink is reading about it!  A cute book to put on top of a present, store in your desk drawer to brighten your day, or keep at the bar, "Great Minds Drink Alike" gives us entertainment and insight into the wonderful world of alcohol merriment.  Actually, it is even better than a card to put on top of a gift, especially if you are giving a bottle.  A personal favorite from this number is by Frank Sinatra: "I feel sorry for people who don't drink.  When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."  Best of all is the ingenious bookmark that is a red ribbon with a glass of wine at the end.  Another nice job, Peter Pauper Press!  Even Fitzgerald himself would enjoy it, we think.
