If you love playing cards or even if you don’t learn, it’s the new wave. Hey haven’t you seen ESPN?? Everyone is doing it, I haven’t seen a poker tournament yet on TV without an actress, singer, reality star or flamed out 80’s show sitcom train wreck. Buy this book called “The Little Black Book of Poker” by John Hartley published by Peter Pauper Press, Inc. You will instantly learn how to play every game from Stud Poker, Hold ‘Em, Community, Draw and the list goes on and on. It’s a great, quick easy read, very informative and it’s 2010 and everyone should know how to play poker. I recommend this book, if not only to rest on top of your toilet or coffee table, but to have a keepsake for the times you need to know how to play with the big boys.
The Little Black Book of Poker is yet another helpful pocket book from Peter Pauper Press. Since a poker game seems to break out every time we get together with the inlaws, this book is proving quite useful. In the past, I was only able to play if the game of choice was Texas Hold 'Em. Most of the time, though, the family gathers around for poker and the dealer names. Before I got the Little Black Book of Poker, I would often sit there not knowing what was going on and unable to join in. They would start shouting out games from seven card stud to ship wreck, games from baseball to even cowpie. Too embarrassed to admit I couldn’t keep up with the different games, I would just sit back and be a wall flower taking in all the action. The Little Black of Poker was the perfect study guide to bring me up to speed in strategy and rules of each game. Now I am ready for the next family gathering so I can leave with all their money.
