It may only be 10am on a Wednesday, but we see it as being two hours from the halfway point of the week (noon on Wednesday) so it's time to celebrate! The fun people of Whom You Know say:

For the mostly fine spirits-sippers like myself out there, who rarely, if ever, indulge in the occasional shot or shooter, The Little Black Book of Shots and Shooters is a great intro into that usually boisterous and admittedly fun part of socializing and making-merry at a bar, party or function. The book first explains the difference between a shot and a shooter, and unlike what I'd originally thought, they're not one and the same. A shot is a small glass of a single spirit, while a shooter is mix of spirit, or spirit, and whatever other ingredients you can think of. Some sense of creativity and ingenuity are required for putting together shooters and this book lists a great selection of recipes and tips and tools you'll need. I was delighted to see that the recipe for "Scooby Snack," a shooter/cocktail that I've tried before and which have elicited many a "what's that?" when I've requested it at bars, is included in the book. The recipes list the various ingredients in parts, vs. exact measurements, making it easy to create the shooters in any size portions. They're easy and simple to follow. This is a book that I'll regularly consult with, whether I'm hosting a cocktail party or am just an attendee and looking for an interesting shooter or combo to try.
I'm always looking for great new ways to enjoy my favorite beverages, and this book provides a multitude of choices!  Especially for throwing that perfect soiree!  Peter Pauper Press in general is always a favorite at Whom You Know, and the colorful and straightforward presentation is perfect.  Also, this book makes a wonderful gift, ideally when you are visiting your favorite host or hostess!  In particular, the Purple Hooter and the Cliffhanger were among my favorites, but there are so many choices from you to pick from. This will even inspire you to create some of your own!
