Dell'Amore Premium Marinara is a great sauce for people accustomed to good homemade sauce but with busy schedules just don't have the time to make the sauce, and that sounds like just about everyone in Manhattan. In our quest for the best, Peachy Deegan saw this somewhere on the Upper East side, so she contacted the gracious Frank Dell'Amore to find out more!
People say it truly has a fresh, homemade taste and they are absolutely right. In 1986, the Dell'Amore family began bottling Grandmother Filomena's recipe for marinara sauce in Burlington, VT. Sometimes the best of Manhattan must come from Vermont! We have already recommended Ben & Jerry's.
The recipe remains to this day unchanged; no shortcuts, no substitutions. It is made with California plum tomatoes, 100 % olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, and spices! There are no fillers, additives, thickeners or artificial ingredients. Additionally, it's gluten free with no tomato paste, no water added, no added salt or sugar because the tomatoes are so sweet too. The oil is such high quality, the garlic is fresh, and the basil is pungent and abundant. Dell'Amore Sauce is perfect on any pasta of course. It is wonderful on cheese ravioli. Peachy Deegan is so crazy about it she has started to grab a spoon and just eat it out of the jar inbetween writing posts as she has developed an addiction. The cannery in Colchester, VT is FDA inspected and approved and it is also O.U. Kosher certified which means that in addition to the facility being inspected monthly, all the ingredients used are inspected to confirm consistency with the product ingredients used. i.e.: they don't switch from one brand ingredient to another in order to save money. Knowing this, the consumer can be assured the product is always the same.

Dell' Amore is the best sauce in a jar that I have ever tried. I wish I had time to make a gourmet marinara sauce with fresh pasta and garlic toast, but the time and energy it would take are simply not available. Working full time and having a wife that works full time, and both of us trying to make time for our kids only allows for jarred sauce in our house. I grew up in an Italian family on my mom's side and had lots of experiences with homemade sauce. The recipe that my great-grandmother made has been handed down. Because of this, I have become picky about the sauce I use for anything Italian I make. I haven't found anything in a jar that I have liked, until now. The Original is close to what my family makes. Pasta with sauce is like a comfort food for me. I would definitely use this sauce if I didn't feel like making sauce myself. And that is saying a lot! This sauce is one of the best I've tried. I will definitely buy more of this product!
Although I am Italian, I rarely cook myself and am an enthusiastic member of the Peachy's Pantry Panel. I must say that in all of the fabulous Italian restaurants I've ever been to, this sauce is just as good if not better! I shared this with some friends and we all raved about it. Grandmother Filomena certainly should be proud! I can't stop eating or talking about how wonderful this product is.
Dell' Amore's Original Recipe sauce is one of the most amazing sauces I have ever had. I love pasta sauce - adore it to be honest. I probably use a red sauce about once a week. Well this one tastes like it's homemade. I can't get enough of this fabulous sauce. I made an amazing pasta with breaded chicken and topped it off with Dell' Amore's Original Recipe sauce. WOW! This dish was unforgettable. My husband couldn't get enough. He loves red sauces just as much as I do and he just went on and on about how amazing this one was. Once you start eating you just can't stop.
