Movietime in Manhattan: Film Festival in a Box An Interactive Movie Game Where Friends Watch, Judge and Rate Real Films, Real Filmmakers and Real Actors Then Meet Them Online
A new game featuring the works of indie film talents brings the fun of a film fest into the home: "meet 'n greets", swag bags and all. Players of the Film Festival in a Box game watch four short flicks on DVD, grouped by genre (either Comedy, Fantastical, Powered By Girls or Pottymouth) then discuss and debate. Players make their decisions then go online to the IndieFlix.com website where they join the buzz of the virtual film festival by voting for Best Picture, Best Performance and Best Story. The actual filmmakers and crews can meet the Film Festival in a Box players right there online, making for a vibrant game experience with all the behind-the-scenes connectivity that's best about a truly great film festival. The Film Festival in a Box game ($14.99) is available online at Drugstore.com and at independent retailers like Fred Segal, Santa Monica and NuBe Green, Seattle. Peachy Deegan started by watching the Fantastical films.
From the windy wild west to the 1979 Skylab, these films were short, sweet and a nice break from life! The wind fisherman learns to appreciate that the grass is not always greener on the other side, while the technician learns that you can't change the content....Numb was visually stimulating and was our favorite of these four. With an "Alice in Wonderland" quality, Numb drew in the viewer to scenes of beauty and shows that Hollywood blockbusters are overrated and over-marketed. These kinds of films deserve more attention!
Oooooh we love love love Top Gun and we recall Tom Skerritt from that!
Actor/Director/ Producer Tom Skerritt says, “Film Festival in a Box is doing what Hollywood’s been trying to do for years—getting people to connect over films.” Looking to do exactly that,
Film Festival in a Box creator and IndieFlix CEO Scilla Andreen explains, “Film Festival in a Box is made to spark conversations that will last for years to come, while awakening a new generation of audiences to the joy of independent film.”
Film Festival in a Box promises to deliver the highest quality short films screened at festivals around the world. The players play a fun game that makes for a memorable party plus the filmmakers get direct contact with their audience, exposure, and a new revenue stream to support their future success. Players serve as a jury to determine which film should win “best of the fest" and take away a “virtual goodie bag” of free or discounted “swag” such as a $15.00 gift card to Beauty.com.
