On Thursday, October 21, 2010, The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) will host the 22nd Annual Preview Party for The International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show. Held at the Park Avenue Armory in New York, the show is a must for collectors, connoisseurs, museum curators and interior designers the world over. Over 1,000 guests attend The Society’s glamorous Preview Party, which is sponsored by Giorgio Armani and 1stdibs.com, with additional support from ELLE DÉCOR. This glittering evening is co-chaired by Melinda Blinken, Libby Fitzgerald (We love love love Greyledge Farm see Peachy's Pantry), Lisa McCarthy, Daisy Soros, and Michel Cox Witmer. The Associates Collector Chairmen are Kate Allen, Claudia Overstrom, and Elizabeth Pyne.
A tradition since 1989, The Society’s annual Preview Party opens Brian and Anna Haughton’s flagship fair, and helps raise important funds for The Society’s patient care, research and education programs at MSKCC. The International Show is world-famous for its sumptuous, stylish décor, its extraordinary variety and its museum-quality offerings, which are rigorously vetted by teams of specialists. The Preview Party offers The Society’s members, New York’s notable art and antique dealers and collectors, and leaders in fashion and design, a private preview of the fair’s sensational showcase before it opens to the public the following day.
“We are delighted to return to the Armory once again for The Society’s Preview Party of the International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show. It’s an incredible evening when the art, antique, and philanthropy worlds converge in support of The Society and its mission to fund patient care and research programs at MSKCC,” said Heather Leeds, President of The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. “This special evening would not possible without the generous support from our sponsors and our long-lasting partnership with the Haughton’s,” added Leeds.
Joining the high-profile crowd in support of The Society is the evening’s prestigious Decorator Committee, including: Joel Allen, Geoffrey Bradfield, Ernest de la Torre, Sallie Giordano, Joanne de Guardiola, Albert Hadley, Lisa Jackson, Noel Jeffrey, Celerie Kemble, Hermes Mallea and Carey Maloney, Alex Papachristidis, Campion Platt, Ann Pyne, Elizabeth Pyne, John Robshaw, Todd Alexander Romano, David Scott, Marshall Watson, among many others.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center,” said Anna & Brian Haughton of Haughton International Fairs. “The preview party is a wonderful occasion to salute this great organization and its dedicated volunteers who work year-round to fundraise and improve patient care at the Center,” she added.
Prior to the Preview Party, Giorgio Armani will host a private kick-off party for members of The Society of MSKCC on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Giorgio Armani boutique on Madison Avenue. This exclusive evening of private shopping will include vintage Giorgio Armani pieces, new items from the Giorgio Armani Privé jewelry collection, and the Armani / Dolci range of delicious chocolates and other delectables. In addition, Giorgio Armani Beauty Celebrity Face Designer, Tim Quinn, will be available for private consultations. Ten percent of all purchases made from September 15-25 by the society members will be donated to The Society of MSKCC to support patient care programs and research.
