For those of us who are quite swept up in the coffee culture and who can't pass the day without our usual cup or two or three, this little book is a must-read.  Being one who never thought too much about what's behind my daily cup, this book gave me a primer on the different types of coffee out there, a history of how coffee came about, the different ways to brew, the art of tasting coffee, the various gear you can get, etc..  It's interesting how coffee's evolved to the be the 2nd most traded commodity in the world, proving just how many of us out there rely on and desire this potent beverage.  And for those of us for whom just drinking our coffee straight up isn't quite enough, this book is loaded with many different recipes for hot coffee drinks, cold coffee drinks and various coffee-laced treats.  It's a veritable treasure trove for those of us who are true coffee fans.

I've  always enjoyed the Little Black Book series.  When I saw The Little Black Book of Coffee, I was thrilled.  I love coffee and love to try it in different ways.  As I was going through the book, I came across "The Art of Tasting" section that begins on page 23.  I would have never thought to compare coffee taste testing to that of wine.  The more I read, the more I learned that like wine, each type of coffee is produced for it's unique flavor.  As I kept reading, I loved how it had various recipes for different kinds of coffee drinks.  Even though I typically drink black coffee, many of the recipes I would love to try. This is the perfect book for coffee lovers!
