I've  always enjoyed the Little Black Book series.  When I saw The Little Black Book of Tea, I was thrilled.  I love tea, especially in the evening, and love to try it in different ways.  As I was reading, I came across the "tea traditions" that begins on page 10.  I loved reading about how other countries came to have their traditions.  I found the "Tea in Russia" section on pages 14-15 most interesting.  I also found the section about different grades of tea helpful.  I think knowing there are different grades of one particular tea will help in choosing the right tea for your own tastes.  I also loved the entire recipe section.  It gave some helpful hints on how we can use tea for more than just drinking.  This is the perfect book for tea lovers!

For those of us whose acquaintance with tea is more than the occasional cup of Lipton black tea teabag, this book is a great way to read up on the history and facts behind this beverage that's second in popularity only to water for the majority of people in this world.  For myself, tea is almost a daily indulgence, and perhaps not just an indulgence but it's a must for me to wind up, as well as unwind and get through the day.  This book covers the various varieties of teas out there, what it means to each culture, the various tea grades and how to brew the perfect cup of each of these major varieties.  For those of us who can't get enough of their tea by just sipping it, there are numerous recipes in the back of the book, sweet and savory, that incorporate tea.  One that I'll put to use quite soon: classic green tea ice cream!
