Faith Hope Consolo to Co-Chair at American Heart Association's GO RED Luncheon
Annual Event on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Grand Hyatt
The renowned Chairwoman of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group, Faith Hope Consolo, will be the Co-Chairwoman of the 2011 NYC "Go Red for Women" Luncheon. The annual event, which is traditionally attended by more than 1,000 New York area women business leaders, raises both awareness and funds for the American Heart Association (AHA) and its mission.
"Heart disease is the number one killer of women in America and yet so few of us understand the risks or symptoms," said Ms. Consolo. "AHA is an organization that has helped countless women by providing knowledge and resources. When they called on me to participate this year, I said 'yes' without hesitation!"
Ms. Consolo will be joined by fellow co-chairs Molly Langenstein, Executive Vice President, Fashion and Business Development, Macy's, Inc.; Mary Ann McLaughlin, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Cardiology, Mount Sinai Medical Center; and Martine Reardon, Executive Vice President, Macy's, Inc.
The American Heart Association is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke. Its 2020 impact goal aims to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and strokes by 20 percent. Go Red for Women is part of the American Heart Association's solution to broaden awareness and help save women's lives. With one out of three women still dying from heart disease, AHA is committed to fighting this number one killer, which is largely preventable. To date, AHA has raised $202 million nationwide and enrolled more than 1.4 million people in the "Go Red for Women" movement.
The luncheon on Friday, February 18th is being held at the Grand Hyatt, and extends from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. More information about the organization and luncheon may be found on the American Heart Association website at www.heart.org/nyclunch or by contacting Barbara.Berger@heart.org.
