The Folly, Flexibility and Fun of Five New Yorker Cartoonists along with the Book Launch of When Do They Serve The Wine?
November 17, 2010 6:30 - 8:30pm Society of Illustrators 128 East 63 Street (b/w Lexington and Park) |
Join Liza Donnelly, staff cartoonist for the New Yorker, as she moderates a panel discussion with fellow New Yorkercartoonists Roz Chast, OUR MOVER AND SHAKER Drew Dernavich, Zach Kanin and Barbara Smaller on a discussion about their creative words and voices. Liza will also introduce her new bookWhen Do They Serve The Wine?, which explores the evolution of women through their lives and crises (physical, emotional, satorial): the awkward teen years; the crisis of becoming a quarter-lifer; the unmistakable realization that if you're wearing a certain outfit in your forties, you might be a cougar. With her trademark wry, self-deprecating wit, and 140 eye-catching cartoons, Liza celebrates the fact that laugh lines do come with age- and so does wisdom. After the panel discussion a book signing and cocktail reception will follow. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP@societyillustrators.org or call Katie 212.838.2560 |
