He says today via email to Peachy:
Get Out And VoteIn case your TV is in the shop, your radio is broken or your Internet access is down, you may then be surprised to know that today is Election Day. For those of you who may have seen an ad or two over the past few weeks, then you’re well aware that today is your chance to be heard at the ballot box. Whether you want to throw the bums out, keep the bums in, or anything in between, there’s one thing we can all agree upon: none of that happens unless you turn out to vote. The difference between competent, honest government and incompetent, dishonest government is massive: it affects your safety, your pocketbook, how long it takes you to get to work, the quality of your kids’ schools, the quality of the air you breathe, the water you drink, and virtually every other aspect of our day-to-day lives. It is worth taking a few minutes today to vote and support whichever candidates you think can do the best job. I’ve endorsed a slate of candidates here in New York and I’ve also endorsed candidates all across the country (you can see whom I’m supporting by clicking here). But regardless of whether you agree with my choices or not, what really matters is that you get to the polling place and cast your vote. If you are here in New York City and something isn’t working right at your polling place, we need to know about it right away. To report a problem you can call 311 or you can tweet it using the hashtag #NYCVotes. The New York City Board of Elections experienced a rash of problems during the primary elections in September. It’s an independent board outside the mayor's control, and we're doing everything we can to make sure those problems don’t happen again. Thanks for your time. I don’t know whether or not the candidates you’re supporting will win, but I do know that if you don’t vote, we all lose out. So please vote. Sincerely, Mike Bloomberg | |||
