Peachy's Pantry: Terra Medi Extra Virgin Olive Oil Recommended by Whom You Know!

Like liquid gold, , terra medi extra virgin olive oil is the pure essence of Koroneiki olives from Greece’s balmy Peloponnesian peninsula. The finest olives ripened under the Mediterranean sun are chosen from a variety of orchards. The earliest crop of olives is harvested by hand and immediately cold pressed, producing a richly flavored, extra virgin olive oil. With an acidity of less than 0.5%, it is smooth and subtle enough to please most American consumers. Available in two sizes: 8.5 fl. oz. (250 ml) and 17 fl. oz. (500 ml).  The Peachy's Pantry Panel put this to the test, and they rave:

I know they say do not judge a book by its cover but let’s be honest, packaging does make a difference. To me packaging means so much especially with food. So I give the Terra Medi brand of Olive Oil a A+ when it comes to the look of the bottle and label. Sleek and clean looking with great design of three oval olives in different shades of green. Also, love the striped seal at the top as well. Perfectly presentable on your table for any dinner party. So let’s get down to the real deal of taste. Terra Medi’s regular extra virgin olive oil is anything but regular. Made in Greece this product is far superior to other olive oils which is why you may see it used quite frequently at high-end restaurants. It has such a rich, clean flavor and gives of the perfect fragrance just making your mouth water before you even try it!  Just drizzle it on everything you can and enjoy!

We found that the Tera Medi olive oil was a nice, light flavored olive oil.  It was lovely alone, as a dip for sourdough bread.  But, we much preferred the regular olive oil for cooking.  We prefer olive over other oils for sautéing.  We found the Tera Medi did not infuse too much of its own essence into the flavor of the dishes.  So it is great option for seasoning the pan before preparing light, egg-based dishes that might be too affected by a stronger flavored oil.  There is something about the oil being a product of Greece that made it feel more authentic, as well.

I do not have much experience tasting olive oil, but I do know if I like it or not. I compare every olive oil I taste to my absolute favorite olive oil which I brought back with me from Italy. That bottle is long gone, so I am now on the quest to replace that bottle. The Terra Medi EVOO came very close. I really like my olive oil to taste like olives, but I do not want it to be too strong. Terra Medi found that balance. The flavor was strong enough to stand alone and was perfect for dipping a warm crusty slice of bread in it, yet it was light enough to cook with. The bottle and the label are sleek and simple. I really like it the look. The bottle can easily be put on display, because the trendy look does not need to be hidden in the cabinet. I definitely recommend Terra Medi to anyone who is looking for a good bottle of EVOO that is perfect for everyday use.

This is a wonderful product! I am very much into healthy cooking and "terra medi" extra virgin olive oil was my first try. The bottle caught my eye with the 3 olives on the front and a product of Greece, I knew it would have great flavor. The olive oil from "terra medi" is produced from Koroneiki olives that are grown on Greece's Peloponnesian peninsula. The history of olive production in Greece goes back to 2000BC with Greece still producing quality extra virgin olive oil.  The "terri medi" EVOO has 0. - 0.5% acidity which has not been processed with heat or chemicals, that makes for wonderful flavor and taste. In fact, the olives are hand picked and first cold pressed to give healthy infusion of flavor for all your recipes. I love this especially for dipping crusty italian bread; wonderful mild taste, marinating veggies for the grill and super for my favorite salad dressings with balsamic vinegar.

Greek Farms International, LLC was founded in 2001 by Apostolos Paralikas, Master of Science in Horticulture; John Stavros, a longtime leader in high-end restaurant and hospitality management; and Peter Malo, a distributor of high-quality produce items. Most recently, Michael Besso; an experienced specialty food sales and marketing executive joined the company.

Apostolos Paralikas, John Stavros, Peter Malo and Michael Besso recognized that Americans had long been deprived of high quality Greek olive products. They also realized that olive oil consumption in the U.S. had tripled in the last decade as consumers became aware of its ability to replace traditional cooking oils and positively impact their health, and that this trend would continue. The four partners saw this as an opportunity to bring the finest Greek gourmet products into the U.S. specialty food market. Together they created Greek Farms International, LLC to enable them to source and import these high quality Greek olive products and they developed the Terra Medi brand name in order to effectively market these 100% all natural products to the US consumer.

Greek Farms International and our Terra Medi line of quality products from Greece continues to establish itself as a well recognized premium gourmet brand consumers choose to bring home to enjoy with their families.
