Salon Peachy: Le Salon East's Winning Team of Charles Ward and Nikki Goldberg!
Just around the corner from Bloomingdale's, Le Salon East has a winning team of Nikki and Charles that Peachy Deegan had the pleasure of meeting and working with recently. You know after New York, London is our second biggest readership so we were delighted to work with Nikki, from the UK, who introduced us to Charles Ward. Nikki and Charles are the ones you want to see when you visit Salon East. They took Peachy on time and were total professionals.
You know as we are headed into winter it is time for Peachy Deegan to be at one with her natural color, and Charles Ward was a pro at this. He expertly touched up her roots (she doesn't have any gray, right!) and added a few bright highlights around her face with foil. And he followed our instruction of NO RED! He did a lovely job painting in some fall brown, and he agrees with Peachy that people do in fact need to change their hair color with the seasons: take note those of you that are the same color all year! A single process color was executed to match the color that exists...and he softened the brassiness with a toner.
Charles Ward practices cut and style infusion work which seemed innovative to us as we had never seen it, and it's half Japanese and half American. His philosophies make sense as he thinks less is more and looking natural is where it's at. He is great at sectioning and twists the parts of your hair into tiny buns with Asian sticks which provides a guide, which we've also never seen, so he can see the hair better and gives you a more efficient hair cut. He told us this procedure is better for your hair as you avoid the plastic hair clips. He got rid of hard ends and added volume as he modernized Peachy's look with the infusion cut. The length was kept, which we are delighted with. Actually this whole process from beginning to end was the fastest anyone has ever done Peachy's hair in the history of Whom You Know, so he is very efficient. Charles Ward's favorite part about all of this is the happy smile and glow someone has when he reaches the finished product.
Le Salon East is a small salon that is deep and well lit when you walk in. Elevator music plays in the background....about 14 professionals work here. It's a nice place to swing by to get your hair done before lunch at Swifty's where of course you can drink The Peachy Deegan.

Trained in her hometown of London, Nikki began her stellar career at the tender age of 16. A member of the esteemed Goldberg Family, she skillfully continues her family's 100 year history of salon experience and, notably, is the first woman in her family tree to further the century of styling.
Now in her eighth year as a New York resident, this self proclaimed happy, single, downtown girl is forging her own path while simultaneously elevating the esteemed history of her ancestry.We are thrilled that New York has become a highlight of her story and hope she continues to extend her services to our side of the pond for many years to come.
