THE “TWITTEN” SINGLE-HANDEDLY DISPLACES THE MITTEN AS FALL/WINTER 2010-11’S WARMEST FASHION ACCESSORY Conjoined “Two-Handed Mitten” Enables Couples to Hold Hands; Reach in and Touch Somebody: Give the Gift of Affection This Holiday Season Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

Ooooooohhhh who is holding hands now?!  It has cooled down in Manhattan but that doesn't mean the hand holding has to stop.  Peachy Deegan is a girl that went to Miss Porter's and is uber proper!  Do you think they were allowed to hold hands with boys!?!  Maybe they would have been allowed to if the Twitten existed during Peachy's Farmington years.  We think it may have been wasted on the Avon boys, so we are glad it is the latest now!  For the first time ever, there’ll is a one-of-a-kind solution to bring romance, affection AND warmth to couples worldwide when the weather cools: The Twitten.

What the heck is a Twitten?  It’s a unique two-handed mitten couples can wear while holding hands to stay snug and warm.  What’s it about? It’s about being cozy when there is no fire to sit in front of.  It’s about a stroll through Central Park, a hike in the woods, or waiting for a bus.  It’s about skating at Rockefeller Center or Pershing Square. It’s about being closer than you can get wearing ordinary mittens. The Twitten is sure to be this holiday season’s must-have gift and we love love love it at Whom You Know!

The Twitten is the brainchild of Santa Fe entrepreneur and writer Connie Kaiserman, who knit her first Twitten after holding hands with her then-boyfriend Steve Robinson at chilly University of Pennsylvania football games. “Wouldn’t it be great,” she thought, “If we could hold hands outside and not freeze our fingers off?”  Of course, Peachy Deegan likes it for Boston College football games.  Fast-forward to 2009, Connie and textile designer Jennifer Isaacson partnered to launch The Twitten line, hand-knit by Peruvian craftswomen.   Oh, and by the way, The Twitten worked.  Connie and Steve are married and still together.  Peachy's not married but she still likes this Twitten!

The Twitten first appeared during the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on the hands of the cast and crew of the film FROZEN.   Then, across LA during Oscar week, celebrity couples and singles of all stripes embraced the cute, captivating and curious accessory.

Celebrities sporting The Twitten include: Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera; Chelsea Handler and Chuy; the “guncles” from Tori and Dean’s TV Show, Bill Horn and Scout Masterson; HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL’s KayCee Stroh and husband Ben Higginson; THE BLIND SIDE producer Broderick Johnson and his wife, BooBoo Stewart from TWILIGHT; Kathy Joosten from Desperate Housewives; Sally Kellerman; Candy Spelling; Alan Cumming; Olympic Silver Medalist Jared "Speedy" Peterson; Gray’s Anatomy’s Jesse Williams; and Ricki Lake...and Peachy Deegan and ???!  We won't tell!

For Twitten’s Fall/Winter 2010-11 debut, customers can buy: The Twitten; pairs of single mittens for their free hands; and hats.  There’s even a texting version whose top is flapped so users can stick their fingers and/or thumbs out to operate their smartphones.  The Twitten starts under $30, and full set in acrylic knit--the Twitten and two mittens—retails for under $50; the alpaca blend is higher.

The hand-knit Twitten Holiday 2010-11 collection includes yarns made from both natural fibers and acrylics, in both solid colors and stripes.  The eco friendly Twittens, are all fair trade and handmade in Peru by artisans whose work supports and sustains traditional communities.   The Twitten donates 20% of all its profits to the Bodhi Fund, which was created to support New Mexico families whose children are in desperate need of out-of-state cancer treatment.  For more information visit www.nmcf.org/?page_id=1239

Kaiserman, who divides her time between Santa Fe and Greece, where her young adult novel Myth of Amethyst was just published, concludes, “We’re delighted with the advance response to Twitten--that’s what compelled us to expand and develop the line.  The launch represents a college sudent’s dream come true, and it’s just plain silly and fun.  We’re looking for a lot of people to be ‘Twittening’ come fall and winter!”

About THE BODHI FUND
20% of all profits from The Twitten goes to the Bodhi Fund. In 2003 Connie and Steve’s four year-old grandson Bodhi was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Because bone marrow transplants are unavailable in the state of New Mexico where Bodhi lived, he and his family traveled to New York City where he underwent a bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Today Bodhi is an energetic and irrepressible 11 year-old enjoying life with his younger sister and brother. The Bodhi Fund was created to support New Mexico families whose children are in desperate need of out-of-state cancer treatment. Administered by the New Mexico Community Foundation, the Bodhi Fund provides financial aid to cover mortgage, phone, car, utility and travel expenses at a moment when families are plunged into crisis, both emotionally and financially. www.nmcf.org/?page_id=1239
