Upcoming Nightlight: Young Friends of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center to Hold Fall Fundraising Gala Going Gatsby: Putting on the Ritz for the Children of Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center

The Young Friends of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, Manhattan’s only pediatric nursing and rehabilitation facility, will host its annual fundraising benefit, “Going Gatsby: Putting on the Ritz for the Children of Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center,” on November 11, 2010, at The Harold Pratt House in New York City.

The Young Friends of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center is a group of young professionals in the New York area who are dedicated to growing the awareness and support of the Pediatric Center through fundraising and volunteerism. This year is a particularly important year for the Young Friends’ fundraising efforts, as the Pediatric Center is in the midst of a $125M capital campaign to build a new custom, 6.5-acre park-like campus in Yonkers, which will better serve the children and their families.

“Since the group’s inception in 2005, the Young Friends have been incredible supporters of our children,” noted Brian Harrington, Head of Development at the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center. “The Young Friends help the Pediatric Center reach a group of dynamic young professionals in the New York Metropolitan area who care about giving back and making a difference. The funds raised by the Young Friends go directly to the Pediatric Center’s biggest need and help our children experience lives that are as happy and playful as possible.”

The elegant Harold Pratt House on East 68th and Park Avenue will set the stage for guests to step back to the Roaring Twenties, as they gather to help support ESPC’s important work for medically fragile children. More than 250 guests are expected to mix, mingle and dance throughout the Harold Pratt House while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, open bar and a silent auction.

The Twenties-themed event will feature a menu by “Iron Chef”-challenger Peter Kelly, of Xaviers Restaurant Group in the Hudson Valley. Musical entertainment will be performed by the Madame Claude’s House Band.

“We love hosting fabulous parties that benefit such special children,” exclaimed Kelly Jones, Chair of the Young Friends of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center. “Our guests will be donning their pearls and white coat tails, sipping Sidecars, and dancing the night away to live jazz and rag-time!”
