Created in 2009, Amaranthine is a corrupted floral oriental for those private moments when everything is anticipation. It is just as relevant in 2010 and we really like this scent for fall going into winter. It is present but not overbearing and it has a lot more complexity and personality, much more so than you would want in a summer fragrance. It opens with a dramatic flourish of spices and tropical green. An unusual combination, however, we find that it is a smashing hit. Think of palm trees meeting apple pie-that sounds like Thanksgiving in Florida to us! We know some of our readers are down there and Resort Peachy is not so far away. This unsettling lick of drama is beautifully ambushed by an unctuous accord of jasmine and ylang-ylang, a heady bloom renowned for its aphrodisiac properties, and clove swathed in spices, tea, musk and the rounded beauty of tonka bean absolute.
