Peachy's Pantry: The Ultimate Comfort Food – As Warm as a Hug Pot Pies that Nurture the Soul. Chicken Pot Pies Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!
Twin Hens™ is bringing traditional American food back to its origin – the way home cooked meals were before preservatives, antibiotics and hormones. We are super patriotic at Whom You Know, so we could not wait to try these!
Their succulent Chicken and Beef Pot Pies are made with antibiotic and hormone-free meats as well as organic vegetables and sweet AA butter – and no hydrogenated oils! Frozen at the peak of cooking perfection, they taste like they have been simmering on the stove for hours. The Philadelphia Enquirer flatters the Chicken Pot Pie, “Everything about them from the flaky hand-stretched crust to the thyme-scented gravy filled with tender Bell & Evans chicken chunks, tastes homemade.”
Twin Hens™ Founders, Kathy Herring and Linda Twining are both graduates of culinary institutes, La Varenne and the Institute of Culinary Education . They are also busy mothers who didn’t want to compromise taste and nutrition for convenience sake. Just 45 minutes in the oven and their Pot Pies are melt-in-your mouth, ready to eat. According to Herring, “we wanted the “fast” without fast food.”
Peachy's Pantry Panel tried the Chicken Pot Pie, and the panelists comment:
Twin Hens pot pies have now become my number one favorite, easy-to-make comfort food. The chicken pot pie rivals the best I have ever tasted at any restaurant. The crust is flaky, buttery, and crisp around the edges. The filling is creamy and packed with all-natural chicken and vegetables. I would swear it was homemade. Usually, it is pretty easy to tell when a frozen meal is reheated, but with Twin Hen's chicken pot pie, I would swear it came straight from grandma's kitchen! I could not believe how tender and juicy the chicken was! Next time I have guests over for a home-cooked meal, I plan on serving Twin Hens. Although, I am sure they will know right away that I did not cook it myself, once they taste how delicious it is! There is no way I could make something that tasted that good! If you love chicken pot pie, then you have to try Twin Hens!
Chicken pot pie is one of my favorite comfort food dishes and it's especially beloved when the mercury dips outside. While I've tasted my fair share of mass market/supermarket TV-dinner varieties of chicken pot pies, I have to say this isn't a dish that's too commonly found here in the restaurants and gourmet food stores in the NYC area. Enter Twin Hens' Artisan Comfort Food line of pot pies to bridge that gap. Their chicken pot pie is made with the highest quality ingredients (the ingredient list is telling and very short, all pure ingredients, no preservatives) and tastes exactly like homemade. Preparation is the standard, easy, pop in the oven for 45-55 minutes. The flake comes out nice and crispy on the sides and soft in the center. The filling is a good balance of large chunks of chicken and celery, peas and carrots, all seasoned to perfection. The taste, most importantly, is just absolutely delicious and satisfying. I recently had this on a cold fall evening and it was a heartwarming meal. This is a great item to keep in the freezer for those chicken pot pie cravings or when having guests are over.
Twin Hens chicken pot pie is total and utter perfection. I love Chicken Pot Pies and I'd like to say that Twin Hens has outdone itself. The organic vegetables mixed in with chicken that is raised without antibiotics and a flaky crust makes for perfection. This high quality chicken pot pie stands out. They sure know how to bring a simple recipe to life. They use the best and healthiest ingredients. I love home cooked meals and this sure makes me feel like I took the time to make it. Comfort food at its finest. If you're looking for an amazing home cooked meal and don't have time to make it then run out and buy Twin Hens chicken pot pie. It's great to have for this cold winter season.
