Peachy's Pantry: The Ultimate Comfort Food – As Warm as a Hug Pot Pies that Nurture the Soul. Beef Pot Pies Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!
Twin Hens™ is bringing traditional American food back to its origin – the way home cooked meals were before preservatives, antibiotics and hormones. We are super patriotic at Whom You Know, so we could not wait to try these!
Their succulent Chicken and Beef Pot Pies are made with antibiotic and hormone-free meats as well as organic vegetables and sweet AA butter – and no hydrogenated oils! Frozen at the peak of cooking perfection, they taste like they have been simmering on the stove for hours.
Twin Hens™ Founders, Kathy Herring and Linda Twining are both graduates of culinary institutes, La Varenne and the Institute of Culinary Education. They are also busy mothers who didn’t want to compromise taste and nutrition for convenience sake. Just 45 minutes in the oven and their Pot Pies are melt-in-your mouth, ready to eat. According to Herring, “we wanted the “fast” without fast food.”
Peachy's Pantry Panel tried the Beef Pot Pie next, and the panelists comment:
Chicken pot pies are not the only meals that Twin Hens sells. Another tasty product they make is a beef pot pie. The beef pot pie is filled with natural beef, peas, carrots, and onions. It is topped with a mouth-watering, creamy, cheese polenta. The meal reminded me most of a shepherd's pie that my grandmother used to make for me as a child. This pie, however, has a much tastier and cheesier top layer! (I'll have to just make sure to keep that a secret from my grandmother!!) Like the chicken pot pie, the beef pot pie is delicious and will be enjoyed by all, however, the meal will be greatly appreciated by anyone with an allergy to gluten, since it is completely gluten-free.
Pot pies are one of my favorite all-around comfort foods and I always welcome a taste of anything that's different from the ubiquitous chicken pot pie. Enter Twin Hens' Artisan Comfort Foods' Beef Pot Pie. The medley of vegetables is slightly different from the standard ones in the usual chicken variety, this particular mix of tomatoes, onions, peas and carrots actually pair better with the heavier and heartier beef. The taste is balanced and very pleasing. Another difference with this particular pot pie is the cheese polenta topping (the flaky crust is only at the bottom and along the edge), which gives it a nice twist that reminds me alot of shepherd's pie, another one of my favorite comfort foods. The formula is different, but for me, it totally works. It's hearty and it's satisying. The single-size serving is a perfect meal in and of itself.
Flaky, savory, home cooked meal is what I'm looking for. Twin Hens beef pot pie is the best thing on the market. They use the knowledge of simple home good cooking. They honestly don't skip a beat. This beef pot pie only uses the finest products out there. So basically you feel like you cooked it. My husband and I came home exhausted from work, we heated it up and dug in. It honestly was love at first taste.
