Terrific Takeout: Farinella Italian Bakery, Pizza and Panini

Brand new to the Upper East side at 1132 Lexington, Farinella is now in two Manhattan locations, the original being the bigger one in Tribeca.  Dedicated to quality, this premier bakery is spearheaded by Alberto Cretara, above, with Peachy Deegan's fabulous pizza.  Farinella is starting the latest pizza trend in New York: the Palam!   The Palam is famous in Rome. We love pizza in all shapes and sizes so we were delighted to give it a try.
We highly recommend the capricciosa, shown above.  Peachy Deegan added pepperoni to the original because you know she is an addict of pepperoni on her pizza.  The original capricciosa is composed of italian cooked ham, tomato sauce, mushroom, artichoke and black olive.  If you know Peachy you know she said to hold the olives.  We absolutely loved the artichoke on the pizza and can't remember the last time we saw something like that.  So fresh and innovative!!!  You must try it.
Peachy also tried the Cesar salad which also had cherry tomatoes per her request.
The food is lovely and the people are delightful-both Alberto and Vania were friendly as can be!
Check out Farinella!  You'll love it.
When in Manhattan, do as the Romans do and get that Palam.
